In her speech, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang said that despite the many difficulties in the international and domestic context, with the strong direction of the Government and the efforts of localities and enterprises, the Industry and Trade sector in the Southern region has maintained stable growth, making important contributions to the economic development of the region and the whole country.
Processing and manufacturing industry continues to be the main growth driver; industrial zones and clusters are invested and expanded; renewable energy, logistics and import and export have achieved many positive results. Many localities have promoted green transformation, digital transformation in production, forming supply chains and industry clusters, contributing to improving the region's competitiveness.
However, the Deputy Minister also pointed out some limitations that need to be overcome, such as unsynchronized logistics and energy infrastructure, slow development of supporting industries, loose regional connectivity and clear impacts of climate change, especially in the Mekong Delta.

This is the leading dynamic economic region, contributing greatly to the country's industry, trade, services and exports.
According to Mr. Thanh, in 2024 and the first 9 months of 2025, the Industry and Trade sector in the Southern region will continue to grow positively. The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in many localities will increase by double digits: An Giang 14.32%; Dong Nai 14.03%; Tay Ninh 13.4%; Dong Thap 12.95%...
