In October and the first 10 months of 2025, the entire Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province has made efforts to synchronously deploy key tasks, achieving many positive results in all fields: agriculture, fisheries, forestry, natural resources - environment and new rural construction.
Fisheries sector
Total aquatic product output is estimated at over 1.026 million tons, up 5.7% over the same period; of which, shrimp output reached 470,712 tons, up 6.0%. The province's shrimp farming area reached 416,351 hectares, reaching 97.5% of the yearly plan; of which the super-intensive shrimp farming area applying high technology reached 10,481 hectares.
The Department continues to implement plans to develop breakthrough production in the shrimp and crab industry; coordinate the implementation of a circular shrimp farming model with little water change, aiming for green and sustainable development, and at the same time advise on replicating effective models suitable to local conditions.

Agricultural sector
The province's rice output is estimated at 1.68 million tons, up more than 7% over the same period.
The number of pigs sold reached 576,571 (up 6.4%), and poultry reached more than 11 million (up 4.2%).
Programs for restructuring the agricultural sector and developing OCOP products have been promoted. Up to now, the whole province has 343 OCOP products (including 2 5-star products, 75 4-star products and 266 3-star products), demonstrating a strong shift towards producing quality goods and increasing added value.

Forestry sector
The province has planted 123.4 hectares of new forest, reaching 41% of the yearly plan; exploited wood output reached nearly 430 thousand m³, an increase of more than 50% over the same period.
Forest cover rate is maintained at about 20%, contributing to stabilizing the mangrove ecosystem, preventing coastal erosion and developing the forest economy associated with environmental protection.

Field of natural resources and environment
Advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop the revised and supplemented Land Price List for 2020-2024 and the Land Price List applicable from January 1, 2026 in the province.
At the same time, the Department actively coordinated with units to speed up the progress of compensation and site clearance for key projects such as: Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway, Hon Khoai general port, traffic routes to Hon Khoai island, National Highway 1 and logistics infrastructure works serving seaports.

New rural construction and collective economy
Ca Mau currently has 55 communes continuing to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Development. The results after review show that 43/55 communes meet the new rural standards, reaching 78.2%; 3/43 communes meet the advanced new rural standards, reaching 6.97% (Vinh My commune, Phong Hiep commune and Vinh Phuoc commune), 1/3 communes meet the model new rural standards, reaching 33.3% (Vinh Thanh commune).
The Department continues to implement the collective economic development program, support young workers to work in cooperatives, organize training courses on cooperative management, and approve many projects linking production and product consumption, contributing to promoting production associated with the value chain.

Key tasks and solutions for November 2025
Entering November 2025, the entire Agriculture and Environment sector will focus on resolutely implementing the following key groups of tasks:
Speed up the completion of agricultural, forestry and fishery production targets by 2025;
Continue to replicate the closed-circulation shrimp farming model, applying high technology, saving water, and reducing emissions;
Complete the issuance of the 2026 land price list and detailed regulations for the implementation of the 2024 Land Law;
Strengthening public land management, environmental protection, pollution control, treatment of domestic waste and agricultural waste;
Promote new rural construction activities, develop collective economy, improve the quality of OCOP products;
Proactively prevent natural disasters and epidemics, ensure production safety and stabilize people's lives.
Orientation for the last months of 2025
In the final months of the year, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will continue to resolutely direct the comprehensive completion of targets and plans for 2025; at the same time, prepare the 2026 production plan in the direction of climate change adaptation, digital transformation and green agricultural development.
The sector will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee on policies to support production development, improve people's livelihoods, promote the application of science and technology, contributing to building Ca Mau province into a center for sustainable agricultural, forestry and fishery production in the region./.
