In the first 9 months of the year, the health sector has focused on implementing many key tasks, notably the work of perfecting the organizational structure and streamlining in accordance with Government regulations. Digital transformation has been promoted, 100% of public health units in the area have successfully deployed electronic medical records; more than 60% of non-public hospitals have also announced the deployment on the Ministry of Health Information Portal. The whole city currently has 65 smart KIOSKs serving medical examination and treatment registration, with more than 110,000 online registrations.

Disease prevention and control work has been maintained regularly, with no major outbreaks or new dangerous infectious diseases recorded. Medical examination and treatment continued to improve, with more than 4.1 million visits, an increase of 8% over the same period in 2024. The number of health insurance visits reached over 4.26 million, an increase of 3.2% over the previous year. However, the health sector is also facing many difficulties: lack of human resources, unsynchronized facilities, scattered medical data and slow updating of electronic health records.

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Minh Quang - Director of the Department of Health acknowledged the efforts of the entire industry, and at the same time requested units to continue promoting digital transformation, building a smart healthcare platform with three pillars: smart disease prevention, smart medical examination and treatment and smart healthcare management.

The industry needs to strongly develop remote medical examination and treatment applications, online health consultation; enhance administrative procedure settlement in the electronic environment, digitize records and procedure results to shorten time, reduce costs, and increase publicity and transparency. At the same time, continue to invest in modern equipment and machinery, and apply science and technology in diagnosis, treatment and patient care.

The Department Director requested the CDC and local Health Centers to closely coordinate with local authorities in disease surveillance, ensuring adequate vaccination for children; and well-prepared projects and resolutions on health insurance, population and elderly health care to be submitted to the City People's Council in the coming time.

For the grassroots health network, the arrangement and selection of main health stations will be implemented soon. Health centers need to review the location, facilities, and human resources at each station, ensuring that station leaders have management and professional capacity to serve well the health care work in the community.
