On October 7, a national scientific conference was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.

Implementing the direction of the Central Committee, the Central Propaganda Department, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security and Hanoi Party Committee organized a national scientific conference "New vision, new opportunities to build a cultured - civilized - modern Hanoi Capital, a globally connected city".

This is one of two national events in a series of events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) organized by Hanoi City.

The workshop was held with three purposes: First, to determine the position, role, and historical mission of the capital Hanoi to the nation and people; the special attention of the Party and State to the development process of the capital.

Second, to determine the great significance of the Capital Liberation Day, affirming the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh, the spirit of great national unity, the will, determination and strength of the Vietnam People's Army as the decisive factor in all victories of the Vietnamese revolution; the great achievements of the army and people of the Capital in the cause of fighting against invaders, building and developing the Capital over the past 70 years, especially the socio -economic achievements achieved in nearly 40 years of implementing the country's renovation.

Third, determine the new orientation, vision, and aspirations to develop a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Capital and connect globally. In particular, focus on concretizing tasks and solutions to implement 3 important documents of Hanoi: Capital Law 2024; Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050; Hanoi Capital Master Plan to 2045, vision to 2065.

The workshop took place on October 7, 2024 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, with the participation of about 500 delegates, including: leaders of the Party and State, central agencies, some provinces in the Red River Delta, the Capital Region; leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Party committees of the City Party Committee, departments, branches, districts, towns; universities, research institutes in Hanoi; experts, scientists; some international organizations associated with the development of the Capital; associations, enterprises and central and local press agencies.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Workshop attracted great attention from agencies, units, experts and scientists in Hanoi. The Organizing Committee received about 100 quality articles, clearly demonstrating the passion and responsibility for the journey of building and developing the capital Hanoi. In addition to the papers selected for presentation and discussion at the Workshop, these articles will be carefully filtered, selected and edited for the Organizing Committee to publish the proceedings after the Workshop.

In addition, in order to honor the glorious, heroic, peaceful and friendly historical tradition of Thang Long - Hanoi, to show gratitude for the dedication and contributions of the army and people of the Capital, the Organizing Committee of the Conference arranged outside the waiting hall a space to display images and propaganda posters celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital; at the same time, it brought a space of folk music to contribute to introducing and promoting the image and traditional music of the Capital Hanoi, Vietnam.
