The 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 will take place in Khanh Hoa province

On September 11, the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) announced that the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 will take place in Khanh Hoa province from October 17-19, 2025, with the participation of 6 provinces and cities including: Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City.

The 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ; Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee in coordination with relevant departments, branches, steering agencies and units.

This is an opportunity to strengthen and promote the strength of solidarity among ethnic minorities in general and Cham ethnic groups in particular in the provinces of the Southern and South Central regions after the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units according to Resolution No. 202/2025/QH15 dated June 12, 2025 of the National Assembly .

The festival was attended by artisans, actors, and mass athletes of the Cham ethnic group living, studying, and working in 6 participating provinces and cities.

With the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Cham ethnic group in the new era," the Festival will feature many meaningful cultural, sports and tourism activities, including: Mass art festival, performances of folk songs, folk dances, folk music, solo and ensemble performances of traditional Cham ethnic musical instruments of the locality; performance of Cham ethnic costumes (integrated into the content of the Mass art festival); performance and introduction of festival excerpts, typical traditional cultural rituals of the Cham ethnic group in each locality; performance and introduction of traditional crafts (brocade weaving or pottery making) of the Cham ethnic group...

During the Festival, there will be activities to display and promote the traditional culture of the Cham ethnic group of the localities, including: displaying charts, models of artifacts, images, musical instruments, costumes of typical Cham ethnic groups of the locality, paintings, photos, books, handicrafts, brocade, house architecture introducing types of intangible culture... to reflect the unique culture of the Cham ethnic group in the unity of Vietnamese culture...

Within the framework of the Festival, there are also activities such as: Workshop on "Promoting the value of Cham cultural heritage in tourism development"; community tourism skills demonstration competition including: Guest welcoming skills, explanation skills, introducing community tourism destinations...; sports activities and folk games of the Cham people such as tug of war, stick pushing, football (mini men), water team (women).

In addition, there are photo exhibitions with the theme "Cham ethnic people accompanying the country's development," introducing 300 photos, demonstrating the Party and State's attention to the Cham ethnic people in particular and Vietnam's ethnic minorities in general; outstanding achievements through the perspective of the traditional culture of the Cham ethnic people; the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam; famous tourist destinations; recognized intangible cultural heritages of the provinces and cities participating in the Festival. Thematic exhibition "Cultural characteristics of the Cham ethnic group in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups," introduces the cultural space, traditional occupations, costumes, farming tools in labor, daily life items... of ethnic minorities as well as the Cham people.

A representative of the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups said that the festival is organized to honor and introduce the traditional cultural values of the Cham people to domestic and international friends. Thereby, it enhances the promotion of the image of a Vietnam rich in cultural identity, with unity and harmony among ethnic groups, demonstrating the Party and State's attention to the work of preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Cham people in the process of innovation, integration and development; at the same time, raising awareness and sense of responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the country.

The opening ceremony of the festival is expected to take place on the evening of October 17, and the closing ceremony will take place on the evening of October 19./.
