On June 16, Miss Colombia News reported that Miss Grand Colombia 2017 - Francy Yurany Castaño Suarez passed away at the age of 29, after a tragic traffic accident, on the railway tracks in Puerto Tejada, Cauca province.

"We are deeply saddened by this loss. Sending all our support to her family at this difficult time," Miss Colombia News said in a statement.
Currently, Suarez's family has not commented on this sad news.
According to Beauty Pageants, Francy Yurany Castaño Suarez is 1.77 m tall and has a sexy body. She is well known as the representative of Colombia at the contest in 2017, held in Vietnam. That year, the representative of Vietnam was runner-up Huyen My.
Highly appreciated but at that year's competition, luck did not smile on her, she did not win any award in the final night.

Before competing in Miss Grand International 2017, Francy represented the state of North of Cauca in the Miss Cauca 2014 pageant. She then competed in Miss Earth Colombia 2016.
For many years, Suarez has devoted her time and energy tothe education sector, helping vulnerable people and victims of war. She is currently a Math and Physics teacher for students in war-affected areas in Colombia.
With her volunteer projects, Francy is considered suitable for the Miss Grand International pageant. "She believes in change, social progress and works hard every day to build peace for her homeland," the Miss Grand International homepage once introduced Francy.
