On June 16th, Miss Colombia News reported that Francy Yurany Castaño Suarez, Miss Grand Colombia 2017, had passed away at the age of 29 following a tragic train accident in Puerto Tejada, Cauca province.

"We are deeply saddened by this loss. We send our all our support to her family during this difficult time," Miss Colombia News announced.
Currently, Suarez's family has not commented on this sad news.
According to Beauty Pageants, Francy Yurany Castaño Suarez is 1.77 m tall and has a seductive figure. She is best known for representing Colombia at the 2017 competition, held in Vietnam. That year, the Vietnamese representative was runner-up Huyền My.
Despite being highly regarded, luck wasn't on her side that year, and she didn't win any awards in the final round.
Francy Yurany Castaño Suarez represented Colombia at Miss Grand International 2017.
Before participating in Miss Grand International 2017, Francy represented the state of North of Cauca in the Miss Cauca 2014 competition. She then went on to compete in Miss Earth Colombia 2016.
For many years, Suarez has dedicated her time and commitment to education , helping vulnerable people and victims of war. Currently, she is a math and physics teacher for students in war-affected areas of Colombia.
With her philanthropic projects, Francy is considered a good fit for the Miss Grand International competition. "She believes in change, social progress, and works hard every day to build peace for her homeland," the Miss Grand International website once introduced Francy.
