The National Cultural Costume Design Competition was organized to create a platform for young designers. Four teams, each with a coach, including designers Nguyen Viet Hung, Vu Viet Ha, Dang Trong Minh Chau, and Ivan Tran, along with other young designers, presented noteworthy designs.

Designer Dang Trong Minh Chau and his students presented a diverse cultural tapestry, ranging from everyday life images to heritage sites. However, alongside the meticulously crafted costumes, there were also some controversial ones. For example, the "Ancestral Incense" design by Tran Cong Hau, presented as inspired by the custom of ancestor worship, received a wave of negative reactions from the audience when the contestant brought an altar and incense onto the stage to pray. In addition, many of the traditional Vietnamese "ba ba" costumes and performances were also criticized for lacking refinement on stage.
