Coach Gong Oh-kyun wants to return to Vietnam to work.

The Korean coach is said to be ready to join a team playing in the V-League.

But coach Gong Oh-kyun's first requirement is that the team must have good financial potential and a desire to compete for titles.

Of course, with his reputation, Mr. Gong has attracted the interest of many football teams.

A recent source confirmed that although V-League teams really wanted the services of coach Gong Oh-kyun, they later "shook their heads" because of his salary requirements.

Specifically, the person who was proposed by coach Park Hang-seo to the Vietnam Football Federation wants to receive a salary of up to 700 million VND/month.

This is a fixed figure only and does not include taxes or bonuses.

In addition, Mr. Gong also wants to have 2-3 foreign assistants working with him and the total cost for this team is up to about 2 billion VND/month.

This is such a high number that most Vietnamese football teams will find it difficult to meet.

Therefore, although the talent of the 1974-born coach is very great, the V-League "giants" probably have to "give up".

In the past, coach Gong Oh-kyun brought U23 Vietnam to the quarter-finals of the 2022 U23 Asian Cup.

But in early 2023, he decided to leave Vietnamese football to return to Korea to continue studying and get an AFC Pro license (AFC's highest level coaching license).
