Pioneer of AI robot brain surgery in Vietnam

Thanks to AI-powered robotic brain and spinal cord surgery, many patients have been saved and given a new lease on life.

He has performed over 12,000 neurosurgeries and brain surgeries over the past 30 years. The 100 successful surgeries on brain tumors, spinal cord tumors, and hemorrhagic strokes in the past year, thanks to AI robots, represent a significant step forward in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

These surgeries marked historical milestones in his career.

Born into a family of eight siblings, with a father who worked as a driver and a mother who sold goods at the market, the boy who helped his mother deliver noodles in the morning and went to school in the afternoon has now become a leading expert in neurosurgery.

Despite a difficult childhood, he was well-provided for by his parents, and fortunately, his older brother, a lecturer at a medical school, guided him in pursuing his passion.

Speaking about the gains and losses that the medical profession has brought him, he said: "A comfortable life, status, and a family are all thanks to this profession. I met and married my wife in the hospital, my two children are also in the medical field, and my daughter-in-law is also in the same field. I have gained so much."

As for the losses, it's just time; I spent too much time on work, but luckily my wife and children are understanding and empathetic."

Being close to colleagues, sharing experiences and supporting the next generation is a daily routine for Dr. Chu Tan Si (right).
