Brilliant Christmas atmosphere in the heart of the city
As the first days of December arrive, Notre Dame Cathedral in the center of Ho Chi Minh City takes on a new look, becoming the center of attention with its sparkling beauty of the festive season. The Christmas atmosphere seems to come earlier here, bringing warmth and excitement to the city's residents as well as visitors.

Special highlights of the 2025 holiday season
This year, the iconic structure is decorated on a larger scale, using more than 1,000 LED lights, twice as many as last Christmas season. The dense lighting system covers the entire facade, combined with typical motifs such as bells, stars and pine trees, creating a lively and colorful scene.

According to Father Ho Van Xuan, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, the elaborate decoration is to celebrate the Holy Year 2025 of the Universal Catholic Church. The lighting system will be turned on from 6:45 p.m. to 11 p.m. every day and is expected to last until January 5, 2026.

Check-in spot not to be missed
The brilliant beauty of Notre Dame Cathedral quickly attracted crowds of people to admire and capture beautiful moments. Many young people compared this scene to being in Paris. Mr. Phan Trung Hieu and Ms. Le Nguyen Khanh Ngan shared that this was the second time they returned here to enjoy the festival atmosphere.
Not only young people, many families also choose this place as a destination for year-end outings. Mr. Pham Tan Phat (Binh Tri Dong ward) said he brought his whole family here to take souvenir photos after seeing impressive images on social networks.

The attraction of the project also spread to international tourists and special friends. Many foreign tourists staying nearby stopped to capture memorable images during their trip to Vietnam. Mr. Khuu Quang Sang (Binh Loi Trung ward) even brought his pet dog to take unique souvenir photos.

Visiting information and building history
Notre Dame Cathedral, officially known as the Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, is one of the typical architectural works of Ho Chi Minh City. The project began construction in 1877 according to the design of French architect J. Bourard and has an overall height of 60.5m.
Currently, the church is still under renovation, expected to be completed in 2027, so the surrounding area is fenced. However, visitors can still admire the architectural beauty and festival space from the outside.
