On the evening of May 15th, the Ha Tinh Traditional Arts Theatre held a dress rehearsal for the opera "Uncle Ho's Last Words Before His Departure." The program is in preparation for the theatre's performances to serve the people in localities throughout the province on the occasion of the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023) and the 66th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Ha Tinh (June 15, 1957 - June 15, 2023).
The musical begins with the scene of writer Son Tung traveling to the South to meet nun Ut Hue. From here, the story unfolds about the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh, with his will and ambition to leave for Nha Rong Port to find a way to save the country.
Through the narration of nun Út Huệ, the audience emotionally witnesses the day President Ho Chi Minh departed to seek a path to national salvation on June 5, 1911. At Nha Rong port, under the name Nguyen Van Ba, he boarded the ship Amiral Latouche Tréville to France, beginning his journey to find a path to independence and freedom for the nation.
On June 15, 1957, President Ho Chi Minh visited his hometown of Ha Tinh, after much longing from the people of Hong Mountain and La River.
Through the performance of Meritorious Artist Duy Hai, the image of President Ho Chi Minh emerges with his heartfelt advice and earnest hope: Ha Tinh must strive to make its situation stand out. The scene shows President Ho Chi Minh standing silently, upon hearing from Hanoi that 10 young women of the Youth Volunteer Force at Dong Loc Crossroads had bravely sacrificed their lives on the afternoon of July 24, 1968.
Throughout his life, he sacrificed himself for the country and its people. Even in his final moments, Uncle Ho still harbored many concerns and desires for the country to soon achieve peace and reunification. In the photo: A scene depicting the moments before Uncle Ho's passing.
