(Dan Tri) - On March 27, Dan Tri newspaper published an article "Thang Long Thermal Power Company "mistakenly" reported a loss of more than 500 billion VND as a profit". After that, the company responded regarding the above issue.

According to Thang Long Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, implementing the provisions of Circular 96 on guidance on information disclosure on the stock market, on March 27, 2024, the enterprise sent Official Dispatch No. 86 to the Hanoi Stock Exchange regarding the periodic disclosure of information on the 2023 financial statements after auditing.

In the document No. 86, the company mistakenly presented the title of the indicator from "Previous period" to "Reporting period" and vice versa, causing the loss of 528 billion VND in 2023 to become a profit. However, the data presented in the audited financial report attached to the above document has the correct data, that is, in 2023 the company lost more than 528 billion VND and in 2022 it made a profit of nearly 122 billion VND.

On July 24, 2024, the company announced its financial report for the first 6 months of 2024 before issuing 2 batches of bonds in August and September 2024, then issuing them separately in 2 batches. In this document, the company said that it had announced the correct figures. The interest on the above batches of bonds was paid in February and March 2025.

On March 20, when preparing to announce the 2024 financial report as prescribed, the company reviewed the information announcement of 2023 and the first 6 months of 2024, discovered errors in the previously sent official dispatch No. 86, so it announced information according to official dispatch No. 127 to correct the information of the previous official dispatch No. 86.

Thang Long Thermal Power Joint Stock Company affirmed that the confusion between the indicators "reporting period" and "previous period" in Official Dispatch No. 86 dated March 27, 2024 was only due to errors in drafting the document, not intentionally reporting incorrectly to issue the company's individual bonds in August and September 2024.
