Many important proposals to implement Long Thanh airport project

The People's Committee of Dong Nai province has just proposed to the Prime Minister to approve the policy allowing the Ministry of Transport and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to survey, plan, and implement the second phase of land leveling for the Long Thanh International Airport construction project from 2023 to 2025. The second phase of land leveling will be carried out concurrently with the construction of the first phase of the project.

The land leveling process for Long Thanh airport is causing significant dust pollution.

To date, Dong Nai province has basically completed the land clearance work for the entire Long Thanh airport project (approximately 5,000 hectares). ACV and other investors are also urgently implementing the first phase of the Long Thanh airport construction project (over 2,500 hectares) and are expected to put it into operation by the end of 2026.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, if the second phase of land leveling is implemented after the first phase of Long Thanh airport becomes operational, it will certainly have a significant impact on the airport's operations and threaten flight safety due to the large amount of dust generated during the leveling work.

Previously, Dong Nai province also requested the National Assembly's Economic Committee to consider and approve the policy for ACV to complete the construction of a protective fence for the entire 5,000 hectares of land of the Long Thanh airport project to prevent encroachment.
