Smart tourism is the key direction.

In recent years, Tay Ninh's Culture and Tourism sector has focused on building digital infrastructure, perfecting data platforms, and promoting digitalization in information management and exploitation.

Specifically, the database system on historical sites, festivals, performing arts, and tourism resources is updated, stored, and interconnected, facilitating management and providing tourists with access to complete and transparent information. Many important historical and cultural sites, such as the Tay Ninh Holy See, Ba Den Mountain, and the Central Committee of the Southern Region, have had their documentation digitized and digital maps created, facilitating their widespread promotion to communities both domestically and internationally.

The number of visitors to Ba Den Mountain Tourist Area accounts for more than 90% of the total number of visitors to Tay Ninh province.

Identifying smart tourism as a key direction, Tay Ninh province is implementing numerous technological solutions to enhance the visitor experience. The province's smart tourism application integrates functions such as destination search, accommodation booking, itinerary suggestions, destination quality reviews, and real-time access to cultural and historical information.

GPS technology allows tourists to freely explore the region, especially river tours, ecological gardens, and rice paddies – distinctive features associated with the cultural landscape of the Mekong Delta.

A notable highlight is the bold application of modern technology by major tourist areas and attractions in Tay Ninh to improve service efficiency. At the Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area, facial recognition technology, QR code scanning, and an electronic ticketing system help reduce waiting times for visitors, while also ensuring security and more efficient traffic management.

The cultural and spiritual space here is also presented using virtual reality (VR) technology, giving visitors the opportunity to access the depth of the culture in a vivid way.

For tourism products characteristic of the riverine region, Tay Ninh focuses on investing in digital transformation to spread the beauty of nature and culture that are closely linked to the lives of the people in the delta. River tours such as the Vam Co Dong river route or journeys to explore craft villages and fruit orchards along the river are strongly promoted online on social media platforms, websites, and tourism applications.

Many travel companies have created 360-degree videos and interactive maps to help tourists "pre-visit" unique river experiences: rowing boats to watch the sunset, enjoying local river fish specialties, and exploring the interwoven Khmer, Cham, and Kinh cultures in the lives of riverside residents.

During the period 2023-2025, Tay Ninh will accelerate the application of digital technology to develop tourism.

Digitizing information on traditional craft villages.

Along with promoting cultural exchange, information technology also supports artisans and local people in developing their indigenous cultural values. Traditional craft villages such as those making sun-dried rice paper, making Tay Ninh chili salt, and weaving have had their information digitized, online profiles built, and are connected to e-commerce platforms.

This not only helps preserve intangible cultural heritage but also expands the consumer market and increases income for local communities – key stakeholders in the process of sustainable tourism development.

In addition, Tay Ninh province also implements training programs on digital skills for officials in the culture and tourism sectors and for the tourism community. Training courses on using technology in accommodation management, promoting products on digital platforms, livestreaming sales, professional photography and video editing, etc., are regularly organized.

Tay Ninh also focuses on building an open data ecosystem to serve research and policy planning. Collecting real-time tourist data helps management agencies forecast trends, coordinate services during peak seasons, and improve the quality of cultural and tourism products. Businesses can leverage this data to develop suitable tours, optimize communication strategies, and enhance competitiveness.

Digital transformation also contributes to preserving traditional cultural values through modern communication. Many unique art programs and festivals of Tay Ninh, such as the Linh Son Thanh Mau Festival, the Lantern Festival of the Chinese community, and the Khmer five-tone music performances, are streamed live on digital platforms, attracting millions of viewers and strongly spreading the local cultural identity. Images of Tay Ninh's riverside landscape – both free-spirited and simple – thus reach a large young audience.
