Many tours are closed, travel services are waiting for customers during Tet

Mr. Pham Anh Vu, Director of Communications at Viet Travel Company, said that the company has already met its Tet holiday business targets.

This Tet holiday, the company expects to serve over 5,000 customers, an increase of more than 30% compared to the same period last year. Tet tour prices are relatively stable and have increased only slightly, with increases only seen in domestic tours due to higher airfares. Tours lasting 4-6 days are the most popular choice among tourists.

In particular, overseas tours significantly outnumber domestic tours due to their attractive itineraries and reasonable prices. Of these, 25% choose nearby destinations in the region such as Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Many travel companies have finalized domestic and international tours, but are still offering services such as booking flights, hotels, and restaurants throughout the Tet holiday.

For the domestic market, Vietnam Tourism reports that routes exploring the Northeast, Northwest, Central Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Mekong Delta are popular choices for tourists.

In Hanoi, many tourists are booking tours by air to Dien Bien and the Central Highlands. As for tours departing by car, Vietnam Tourism is still accepting bookings for destinations such as Phu Yen , Nha Trang, Can Tho, Chau Doc, Kien Giang, Ha Tien… and will close on February 6th (the 27th day of the 12th lunar month) to ensure sufficient time for operations and organization.

Ms. Tran Phuong Linh, Director of Marketing and Information Technology at BenThanh Tourist Company, said that the company has completed over 98% of its Lunar New Year 2024 tour plan. Tours to distant markets such as the US, Europe, Australia, Egypt, India, and Northeast Asia (Japan, South Korea, China) have all been fully booked.

Specifically, tour packages to Southeast Asian countries are still available with limited seating (1-5 seats) for Cambodia tours; Malaysia-Singapore combined tours; and Thailand tours departing on the 3rd-5th day of Tet (Lunar New Year)...

"This Tet holiday, the trend of booking overseas tours is dominant compared to domestic tours, accounting for over 60%. Domestic tourism, destinations with beautiful natural landscapes, unique cultural experiences, and diverse entertainment activities for families (Northern tours, beach and island tours) remain the top priority," said Ms. Phuong Linh.

Compared to the same period in 2023, the number of customers booking Tet holiday tours at BenThanh Tourist increased by approximately 20%. However, compared to the period before COVID-19 (2019), the total number of customers only reached about 87% due to the impact of the economic recession and customers tightening their spending budgets.

Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry expects a significant increase in domestic and international visitors during this Tet holiday.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hien, Deputy Director of PSY Travel Company, also said that all of PYS's domestic tours are fully booked for departures during Tet. In particular, tours to see peach and plum blossoms, such as those in Ha Giang and Moc Chau, were fully booked early. Many tours for spring travel from the 3rd day of Tet to the 15th day of the first lunar month have also seen a sharp increase in bookings over the past two weeks.

This year, in addition to the demand for day trips to temples for pilgrimage and sightseeing, there has also been a significant increase in customer inquiries about spring tours that combine temple visits and relaxation.

To ensure a safe spring trip, Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Director of Communications at Vietluxtour Travel Company, recommends that tourists book travel services with reputable agencies and carefully check before booking to ensure quality and avoid unnecessary incidents.
