Where humanity shines

In early October, when the floodwaters had just receded, convoys of vehicles from Tuyen Quang were busy going back to the flood-hit areas in Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards. On each trip was the humanity and warmth of sharing from colleagues, students, and people of Tuyen Quang for the people struggling after the fierce floods.

Mr. Hoang Minh Canh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, shared: “On October 4 and 5, nearly 200 officials and teachers from schools in the old Tuyen Quang area volunteered to go to support teachers and students of damaged schools in Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards. It is a journey of responsibility, sharing and solidarity of the teaching staff. Up to now, the Education sector has mobilized and donated about 3.5 billion VND, along with many goods, necessities, clothes, school supplies... to schools heavily affected by storms and floods. Each gift given is not only material support, but also a source of spiritual encouragement, helping teachers and students in flood-affected areas to firmly overcome difficulties, continue to teach well, and study well.”

That spirit of sharing is extended by simple, heartwarming gestures of people in the flood zone. Mr. Nguyen Duc Mon, owner of Duc Mon motorbike shop (Ha Giang 2 ward) shared: “My house is on high ground and not flooded. Seeing people suffering so much, I turned on the engine so that everyone could charge their phones and share clean water. After the flood, my colleagues and I collected flooded motorbikes for repair. Those in difficulty only charged for spare parts, not labor. Hearing the sound of the motorbike starting again, I felt relieved as if I had contributed a small part to help life return to peace soon.”

Not only the hands on the spot, the spirit of mutual love is also spread from all over the country, bringing the warmth of affection to the flood-hit areas. Mr. Nguyen Hong Tuan, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ngoc Duong commune shared: “While the locality is making efforts to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, the companionship of Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television and the Phan Thiet Charity Association "Spreading Love", Lam Dong province is a timely and practical source of encouragement. 200 gifts not only support people with more food and necessities but also add to the trust and solidarity between the twinned localities to help each other overcome difficulties after natural disasters".

Resurrection from inner strength and faith

According to data from the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, as of October 24, 2025, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has received 50 billion VND in cash; more than 300 tons of goods including rice, mineral water, instant noodles, and dry food donated by 42 organizations and individuals to support people in flood-affected areas. The support is distributed to the people and managed by the Provincial Fatherland Front according to regulations. Along with that, the Provincial Fatherland Front has coordinated with Thien Tam Fund to support the repair of 19 houses (380 million VND), support the construction of 29 new houses (1.74 billion VND); help 7 families with dead or missing people (700 million VND), contributing to stabilizing life and rebuilding peace after the flood.

After the storm, many communes and wards were left in a mess of mud and debris, and schools were severely damaged. However, amidst the ruins, there were images of hands working together to rebuild from the rubble. The government, the armed forces, teachers, students and the people all contributed to quickly stabilize their lives.

Comrade Ha Minh Man, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang 2 Ward, an area that has just experienced severe floods, shared: "In the midst of difficulties, what we feel most clearly is that in addition to relief goods, the spirit of solidarity spreading in each residential area. It is from that hardship that we see more clearly the strength of the community that helps the locality not only stand up after natural disasters, but also strengthens trust and unites people in the journey to build a more peaceful and sustainable life."

At every destination after a natural disaster, the People's Public Security soldiers still quietly build trust through specific actions. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Nang, Party Secretary, Head of the Investigation Security Department, Provincial Police shared: "After the storm and flood, what people need most is not only material things, but also the feeling of being shared and supported to move forward together. For us, that is an order from the hearts of soldiers. Coordinating with philanthropists to donate equipment, support schools, rebuild roads to class... is how we express the solidarity between the force and the people. More than 1.3 billion VND in support is just a number, what we aim for is to preserve so that the camaraderie and solidarity between the people are always nurtured and extended through each specific action, so that after each loss, there is a renewed trust."

When the floodwaters receded, the roads were cleared of mud, and the school roofs were clean again, people not only saw the strength of the collective, but also recognized the light of the human heart. It was during those difficult days that faith was rebuilt, quietly but deeply. Perhaps after all the losses, what remained was faith in humanity, the most enduring spiritual asset that helped us together overcome the storms, rebuilding a life that was increasingly more stable and humane.
