Every year, the number of registered members consistently exceeds 80%, and the number of households achieving the title of excellent producers and business operators at all levels consistently exceeds 50% of the total number of registered households.
Mr. Tong Hai Au, Chairman of the An Hoa Ward Farmers' Association, said that in order to provide assistance to members and farmers lacking capital in production and business, the Executive Committee of the Ward Farmers' Association, together with the Head of the Farmers' Support Fund Mobilization Committee of the ward, coordinated with local departments, organizations, and the 10 neighborhood branches to mobilize the Farmers' Support Fund annually, achieving and exceeding targets by 15%-20%; disbursing and rotating funds for a cattle breeding project from the Farmers' Support Fund managed by the ward, totaling 520 million VND, to 26 members, with each household receiving 20 million VND; and a cattle breeding project from the provincial support fund of 500 million VND to 20 associations, with each household receiving 25 million VND.
Every year, the unit actively participates in the "Week of Saving and Joining Hands for the Poor" campaign launched by the higher-level association, achieving and exceeding the assigned targets; and also receives capital support from the Social Policy Bank and the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank.
For the Social Policy Bank, 16 groups have been entrusted with managing loans, with outstanding loans through various programs totaling 23 billion VND. For the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank, 14 liên kết groups have been established with 541 households, with outstanding loans exceeding 20 billion VND to date. All entrusted groups from both banks have effectively fulfilled their roles and responsibilities in helping members and farmers develop stable economic conditions . The units have also mobilized resources to build 4 "Farmers' Shelter" houses, each valued at over 70 million VND, assisting members facing housing difficulties.
According to the Chairman of the An Hoa Ward Farmers' Association, in order to help farmer members develop their economy, the Association has recently coordinated with the ward's government agencies to establish the An Hoa Agricultural Service Cooperative, comprising 78 members with a charter capital of 500 million VND. The cooperative participates in the production of commercial rice seeds, the supply of agricultural materials, harvesting and transportation services, and acts as a central point for purchasing agricultural products from its members. With a total area of over 105 hectares, the cooperative is equipped with one combine harvester and two tracked threshing machines for harvesting and transporting rice.
Furthermore, to facilitate the cooperative's members from production investment to harvesting, the cooperative has signed contracts with two companies to supply materials (rice seeds, fertilizers) on a deferred payment basis and to purchase all of the members' products. The Farmers' Association of the ward always cooperates with the cooperative to understand the thoughts and aspirations of its members, and promptly makes recommendations to relevant leaders and agencies to implement policies supporting the cooperative's development.
Specifically, the Ward Farmers' Association has approved preferential loans from the Central Farmers' Support Fund for 17 members of the cooperative to raise breeding cows. Annually, in coordination with the Town's Agricultural Extension Center, they support projects for raising snakehead fish, tilapia, and experimental farming of mudfish, as well as commercial rice production.
Through the movement "Farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty," many exemplary farmers excelling in production and business have emerged, with average annual incomes ranging from 350-800 million VND/year, such as: farmer Tran Van Tham in An Thoi neighborhood who grows wet rice; Le Minh Tung in An Loi neighborhood who grows rice and runs a grocery business; Nguyen Tuan An in Hoa Phu neighborhood with his snakehead fish farming model...
To promote the role and responsibilities of the Association in participating in the construction of new rural areas, the Farmers' Association of the ward proactively implements specific, creative, and effective contents and actions in building new rural areas and a civilized urban ward in the locality.
Following the motto "The State and the People work together," the Farmers' Association of An Hoa ward has mobilized its members and farmers to actively contribute cash, land, and other materials totaling over 3.5 billion VND to repair, upgrade, and pave 3 rural roads (1,500m long); 2 flower-lined roads (450m long); 1 rural road lighting project (750m long); and plant 1,225 trees of various types. This has contributed to the completion of the National Target Program for New Rural Development in An Hoa commune, and, together with the Party Committee, government, and people of An Hoa ward, to building a civilized urban ward.
With the achievements made over the past five years, the An Hoa Ward Farmers' Association has received numerous commendations from the Central Vietnam Farmers' Association ; the Provincial Farmers' Association; and certificates of merit from the People's Committee of Trang Bang town and the Trang Bang Town Farmers' Association.
