The song "Continuing the Story of Peace" unexpectedly became a social media phenomenon with over 2 billion views across platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok. Its stirring melody, moving lyrics, and message of gratitude to the older generation helped the song spread widely.

On social media, the song has been incorporated into many touching videos of soldiers marching in parades, becoming a " musical phenomenon" at this year's grand ceremony.

Singer Duyen Quynh – the winner of the 2019 "Storyteller of Love" program – was the first to perform the song. However, in the key art program commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification on the morning of April 30th in Ho Chi Minh City, the performance was assigned to Vo Ha Tram and Dong Hung. This led to some audience members questioning and comparing the artists.

At the same time, a video clip capturing the moment Duyen Quynh burst into tears in the arms of the audience as hundreds of people sang along with her at a gathering with soldiers also attracted attention.

Responding to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper, Duyen Quynh declined to comment on the controversies. She only expressed her gratitude to composer Nguyen Van Chung – the songwriter – for trusting her with the song. The female singer also mentioned remix artist Duc Tu and other artists who helped spread the song on social media.

"In particular, I want to thank Vo Ha Tram and Dong Hung for their touching performance at the grand ceremony. Thanks to the love of the audience, the song has gained such vitality," Duyen Quynh shared.

On her personal page, the female singer posted a cheerful behind-the-scenes photo with Vo Ha Tram, implicitly proving that the relationship between the two is still good, contrary to rumors.

Regarding musician Nguyen Van Chung, he affirmed that both he and Duyen Quynh respected the organizers' decision in choosing the performer. He stated: "The moment Quynh burst into tears was out of happiness and emotion, not to express dissatisfaction as many malicious comments suggested."

Regarding comparisons of the two singers' abilities, Nguyen Van Chung frankly shared: "Duyen Quynh studied one year after Vo Ha Tram, both graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, both are vocal teachers, and have been working in the profession for a similar amount of time. But due to different paths and fates, Duyen Quynh is still not widely known."

"Almost everywhere I go, I hear people playing or using this song. For a young artist like me, this is truly a success beyond expectations. The entire album, ' Continuing the Story of Peace,' consisting of 11 songs, was created with great dedication. Each song is a cherished creation that I present to my audience," the singer shared.

Duyen Quynh said she was well aware that choosing to sing about her homeland meant accepting a more difficult path and appealing to a more niche audience.

"I know I'm not a big name that can create an immediate impact. But I believe in the quality of my music and the values I want to spread. Together with musician Nguyen Van Chung, we are patiently waiting for the day our song touches the hearts of the public," Duyen Quynh confided.

After the song became a hit, Duyen Quynh received many invitations to perform in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities.

"Since the song went viral, my life has become much more vibrant. I'm happy and grateful that just by introducing the song's title, the audience eagerly listens," the singer shared.

Amidst the vibrant music market, with its many trending styles, the fact that a song about traditional themes is so popular deeply moved Duyen Quynh: "My biggest pressure right now is just maintaining my health so that every time I stand on stage, I can fully express the emotions in the song."

She believes that what makes "Continuing the Story of Peace" so special and relatable to the audience is the heartfelt lyrics. In recent days, Duyen Quynh has also dedicated her time to immersing herself in the atmosphere of the April 30th celebrations.

She said, "It only happens once every 50 years, I couldn't miss it. I participated in community activities, visited and sang for the soldiers on duty. During rehearsals and general rehearsals, I also blended in with the crowd to feel the heroic and sacred spirit of this great holiday."

"I've always wanted to use music to pay tribute to and continue that tradition. From the moment I decided to create the album ' Continuing the Story of Peace,' I promised myself that no matter how my career develops, I will always dedicate a part of my heart to the music of my homeland and country," the singer said.

Duyen Quynh shared that, following the positive reception of the song, she and songwriter Nguyen Van Chung are continuing their collaboration to release more new products on the same theme. "Love for my homeland is not just an emotion, but also a musical mission I want to pursue long-term," she said.
