At the 28th session, the Hanoi People's Council passed a Resolution promulgating a list of industrial production establishments, medical facilities, educational facilities and headquarters of agencies and units in the central urban area that are not in accordance with the adjustment of the Capital's Master Plan (phase 1).

Among them, Hanoi Brewery (Ngoc Ha Ward) under Hanoi Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation ( Habeco ) is one of the industrial production facilities that must be relocated. The land area of over 52,000m2 is both the headquarters of Habeco and the beer factory of this unit.

Hanoi Brewery was built in 1890 by the French, originally named Hommel Brewery. In 1957, the Hanoi government took over the factory and renamed it Hanoi Beer. After a year, the first bottle of Hanoi Beer, with Vietnamese people fully controlling the technology and production, was officially born. Currently, the enterprise has an ecosystem of 23 factories including subsidiaries and member units.

Currently, Hanoi - Me Linh Brewery has an area of 26 hectares, operating since 2009, playing the role of the main production unit with a capacity of 200 million liters/year, accounting for about 25-30% of the production output of the entire complex.

In terms of business results, in the 2020-2023 period, this beer giant had sluggish business due to the Covid-19 pandemic, weak purchasing power, fluctuations in raw material prices, an unstable macroeconomic environment, and especially strict regulations on alcohol concentration. In 2021 alone, Habeco's net revenue dropped to VND6,951 billion, and after-tax profit fell to a record low of VND324 billion.

By the third quarter of this year, the company recorded net revenue of more than VND2,507 billion, up 7% over the same period. Profit after tax jumped to VND238 billion, an increase of more than 72% compared to the third quarter of 2024. This is also the highest quarterly profit of the corporation since the beginning of 2021.

Accumulated over the past 9 months, Habeco achieved more than 6,321 billion VND in net revenue, up 6% over the same period last year; profit after tax reached 418.2 billion VND, up 44% and higher than the profit after tax of the whole year 2023 (nearly 355 billion VND) and the whole year 2024 (391 billion VND).

As of September 30, the total assets of the beer giant reached more than VND7,624 billion. Of which, the company's bank deposits reached more than VND4,800 billion, accounting for 64% of total assets. Meanwhile, financial debt decreased by 99% compared to the beginning of the year, remaining at just over VND1 billion.
