Workshop 'Green credit for businesses and farmers' is coming soon

The workshop is expected to open a practical connection channel between banks, businesses and farmers, contributing to improving access to green capital for the entire agricultural sector.

On December 19, 2025, the Vietnam General Association of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with the State Bank of Vietnam will organize the Workshop on “Green Credit for Enterprises and Farmers” and the Closing Ceremony of the Communication Project of the same name. This is an important activity to promote the trend of green production, circular agriculture, emission reduction and create conditions to improve access to preferential capital for enterprises and farmers.

The workshop was designed with many key objectives. First of all, it fully introduced green credit policies, incentive mechanisms and support programs being implemented by the State Bank and credit institutions. In addition, the event opened up a space for connecting businesses - banks - farmers, contributing to creating opportunities to access low-interest capital packages for clean production, modern agricultural technology, digital transformation and circular agricultural models.

The workshop is also a place to share experiences in implementing green business models, reducing emissions in the production - processing - consumption chain of agricultural products; at the same time, raising awareness of sustainable production, supporting capacity building for cooperatives, farms and agricultural enterprises. In particular, this is also an opportunity for commercial banks to affirm their role in accompanying the agricultural sector in the green transformation process, contributing to the country's sustainable growth goals.

The discussion content at the workshop will revolve around major issues: strategic orientation of the Government and the State Bank on green credit in the agricultural sector; preferential credit packages and capital access opportunities for agricultural enterprises; green credit for farming households, cooperatives and circular production models; green technology, digital transformation and green finance criteria in agriculture; and an open dialogue forum where businesses and farmers directly exchange with banks, experts and management agencies.

In parallel with the workshop, the Closing Ceremony of the Communication Project “Green Credit for Enterprises and Farmers” will mark the completion of a practical initiative towards the goal of realizing green and sustainable agricultural development. The project contributes to expanding access to preferential capital in a transparent and effective manner for enterprises and farmers; at the same time, promoting innovation, encouraging the application of clean technology, and improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in the context of integration.

In the journey towards the national goal of green growth and the commitment to net zero emissions by 2050, the agricultural sector needs to continue to receive strong support to transform to an efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly production model. The upcoming event is one of the important steps to promote that process, creating a foundation for green credit to truly become a driving force for transformation for businesses and farmers across the country.
