The Sentry is an annual tournament on the PGA Tour (the men's equivalent of the Masters in tennis). However, early next year, The Sentry will be canceled.

According to information from the PGA Tour, the reason for canceling The Sentry tournament is because Maui Island (Hawaii, USA) has recently experienced bad weather, so the quality of the Plantation Course at Kapalua on this island is not good.
Initially, there was a proposal that the tournament should be moved to another island in the state of Hawaii, or moved to the US mainland. However, the PGA Tour rejected the proposal.
If The Sentry is not canceled, the previous season's PGA Tour winners and the top 50 players on the FedEx Cup standings would qualify.
Following the cancellation of The Sentry, the PGA Tour also announced that the season will run from January 15 to January 18, 2026, starting with the Sony Open in Honolulu, Hawaii. This will be followed by the PGA Tour Champions, also in Hawaii, from January 22 to January 24, 2026.
