The goal is to achieve a 2.5% growth rate in the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors by 2025.

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just issued a plan to direct agricultural production to ensure growth targets for 2025, with agricultural, forestry, and fisheries growth values ​​reaching 2.5% - 3%.

Specifically, the target is to cultivate 48,800 hectares of rice; 3,500 hectares of peanuts; 10,500 hectares of cassava; 4,500 hectares of corn; and 5,000 hectares of various vegetables. The production of grain crops is expected to exceed 290,000 tons; the area of ​​rice grown using large-scale farming methods will exceed 11,000 hectares; 1,000 hectares of rice will be grown using organic farming methods (collectively referred to as organic rice); and the area of ​​high-quality rice will exceed 80% of the total cultivated area.

Convert 157.53 hectares of water-scarce, low- economic- efficiency rice land to high-value dryland crop production; plant and restore long-term industrial crops on over 200 hectares; plant fruit trees and medicinal plants on over 70 hectares.

Promote the application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in crop care and pest control, reaching over 10,000 hectares; reduce pest and disease damage to major crops to less than 5% of yield. Effectively mobilize and integrate resources, and promote innovation in production organization methods to ensure disease safety, stability, and development of livestock production.

The total buffalo herd is 21,500; the cattle herd is 65,000; the pig herd is 265,000; the poultry flock is 4.1 million; the total output of live meat for slaughter reached 63,000 tons per year. The proportion of Zebu crossbred cattle reached over 73% of the total cattle herd. The total aquatic product output was 37,500 tons.

The area for aquaculture reached 3,200 hectares. Regarding forestry, 9,000-10,000 hectares were planted with concentrated forests; 3 million scattered trees were planted; the forest cover rate reached 49.5%; and the timber harvested from planted forests reached 1,000,000 m³.

Implement solutions to ensure water supply for production according to plan, striving to ensure stable irrigation for approximately 54,000 hectares.

Through this plan, we aim to mobilize strong participation from all levels, sectors, and localities to proactively, decisively, and flexibly implement effective solutions for restructuring the agricultural sector, prioritizing growth promotion, renewing traditional growth drivers, and strongly promoting new growth drivers.
