Aiming for modern agriculture, prosperous farmers, and civilized rural areas, Quang Ninh province has been encouraging and creating opportunities for rural people to transform themselves, implement new economic models, and change production methods by prioritizing the application of technology to increase the value and yield of agricultural products.

In September of this year, Duong Hoa Tea Shop appeared on the social media platform TikTok. This is one of the ways Viet Tu Investment, Construction and Trading Co., Ltd. chose to promote Hai Ha tea. On this TikTok page, the story of organic tea from the Hai Ha tea region, along with the process of care, harvesting, and processing, is described in detail. This allows viewers to witness the entire tea production process of the company. Currently, the company has a 15-hectare tea plantation with a completely organic production process, regularly inspected from soil and water samples, and grown and harvested naturally, ensuring the strictest standards of Taiwan and Japan.
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Huong, the company's Senior Executive Director (CEO), shared: "We want the world market to know about Duong Hoa tea, Hai Ha tea, and Quang Ninh tea. Besides the crucial factor of quality, we are also actively leveraging the strengths of various media channels to promote the image of Duong Hoa tea to a wider audience."

Together with businesses and tea growers, the local government recently organized the 2024 Duong Hoa Tea Festival to promote and introduce Duong Hoa tea products as well as the more than 60-year history of the tea region to a large number of tourists from inside and outside the province. This aims to enhance the value and brand of Duong Hoa tea, one of the unique and distinctive products of Hai Ha district.
By leveraging the strengths of local agricultural products to develop the economy, many farmers and production facility owners have earned billions of dong, becoming agricultural billionaires. A prime example is Mr. Dang Ba Manh from Cong Hoa commune (Cam Pha City). Implemented since the end of 2022, by the beginning of this year, over 6 hectares of his family's three-stage shrimp farming system has yielded its first harvests. Mr. Manh stated that with a closed-loop farming process, along with a greenhouse system and automated equipment to control the environment, humidity, and water source, this model has initially shown effectiveness, estimated to yield about 350 tons per year, generating an income of approximately 60-80 billion dong. He added that his family plans to expand to 100 ponds and increase farming capacity to achieve even greater economic efficiency.

The proactive approach of the people in applying science and technology and implementing new models is bringing positive changes to Quang Ninh's agriculture. In addition, to move towards a modern rural area and civilized, prosperous farmers, the province is continuing to improve the structure of crop production, linking it with competitive advantages and market demands; maintaining and developing production areas for key crops. At the same time, it is replicating effective production models, applying new varieties, advanced techniques, and mechanization to production, contributing to increased productivity and quality, and meeting market demands.
The province is also gradually restructuring crop production according to the advantages of each locality, creating conditions for the formation of concentrated agricultural production areas with large commodity output and diverse products. This leverages the potential and advantages of each locality, bringing high economic efficiency to people in rural areas.
Currently, the province has planned 17 concentrated agricultural production zones applying high technology in production. It maintains over 1,000 hectares of cultivated land certified to VietGAP standards; 94 hectares of high-quality rice; 420 establishments applying advanced quality management programs; and 46 cultivated areas granted identification codes.
To date, the average income of rural residents throughout the province has reached over 73 million VND/person/year. Quang Ninh aims to achieve an average income of over 5,000 USD/year for rural residents by the end of 2025, with the province's agricultural sector increasingly developing in a modern, ecological direction, applying high technology.
