Identifying and protecting intangible assets - A foundation for Vietnam's creative economic development.
The pressure of intellectual property infringement in the digital environment.
Identifying and protecting intangible assets is a major challenge in the digital environment. The increasing instances of copying, infringing, and misappropriating intellectual property expose businesses to numerous risks.
Besides copyright infringement, violations of trademarks, industrial designs, and trade secrets are also increasing rapidly. Forms of infringement are becoming increasingly sophisticated, spreading across e-commerce, social media, and content sharing platforms. Clear identification and proper registration are the first steps for businesses to proactively protect their rights.
Lawyer Phan Vu Tuan - Head of Phan Law Vietnam Law Office, recommends: "Businesses should strive to identify their intangible assets, and proactively participate in and learn about the law to receive protection from the State and the law."

Proactive protection from an early stage is key to achieving international recognition.
At the seminar, legal experts stated that many Vietnamese businesses often only pay attention to intellectual property when disputes arise. This makes the resolution process much more costly and complicated. Proactive protection from an early stage not only saves costs but also ensures long-term commercial security.
Ms. Le Thi Minh Hang, Director of the Center for Copyright Law, Vietnam Copyright Association, emphasized the importance of international standards: "Establishing standards for works that are in line with international standards is crucial not only for domestic recognition but also for the international market."

Mr. Tran Giang Khue - Head of the Southern Office of the Intellectual Property Office
Mr. Tran Giang Khue, Head of the Southern Office of the Intellectual Property Office, provided specific guidance: "Individuals, organizations, and businesses need to understand the key points of internal information control, registration of intellectual property protection rights, and strengthening the functions of monitoring, inspection, and coordination with relevant authorities to promptly handle violations."
In the creative economy, intangible assets are the core value of a business. Clearly defining, properly protecting, and effectively exploiting these values will create momentum for them to not only thrive domestically but also reach international levels.
