Specifically, coach Van Sy Son reacted strongly to the decision to award Alan Grafite's equalizer for CAHN FC in the 90+7th minute of the match against Quang Nam FC, which took place at 7:15 PM on February 15th at Hang Day Stadium in Round 13 of the V-League 2024-2025.

After the match, reacting angrily to the referee, Coach Van Sy Son threw his card onto the field. Speaking to the press after the game, the Quang Nam coach continued to criticize the referee. However, Coach Son's reaction was incorrect because, according to the video footage, the Hanoi Police player did not foul the Quang Nam player. The referee's decision was correct. And regardless of the circumstances, coaches have no right to insult or behave inappropriately in response to the referee.

After carefully considering the situation, the Disciplinary Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) decided to suspend Mr. Van Sy Son from coaching for 2 matches and fine him 5 million VND.

The disciplinary document clearly states: "Based on the reports of the match supervisor, referee, and professional documentation of the match between CAHN Club and Quang Nam Club on February 15th in the V-League 2024-2025, and based on the report and proposal of the organizing committee of the national professional football leagues in 2024-25: a decision is made to fine Mr. Van Sy Son, head coach of Quang Nam Club, 5 million VND and suspend his duty allowance for the next two matches for reacting against the referee."
