Authorities discovered tens of thousands of packs of cigarettes of unknown origin.

As part of a concentrated campaign to combat and suppress crime and ensure security and order during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police simultaneously inspected cigarette retail outlets throughout the province, discovering tens of thousands of packs of cigarettes of unknown origin.

Tens of thousands of packs of cigarettes of unknown origin were discovered.

The Khánh Hòa Provincial Police have established 10 task forces to simultaneously conduct administrative inspections of tobacco trading points and tobacco street vendors in Nha Trang ward and neighboring wards.

During the inspection, the police discovered nearly 20,000 packs of cigarettes, over 1,500 e-cigarettes and e-liquids; and more than 1,000 products including lozenges, belts, and leather wallets.

At the time of inspection, the owners of the businesses selling the aforementioned goods could not present invoices or documents proving their origin. The police have now sealed and confiscated all the goods and are continuing to gather evidence to process the case according to the law.
