Following the historic floods in November, large areas of rice paddies in the eastern communes and wards of Dak Lak province were buried under sand and gravel, rendering them unusable for cultivation. Farmers are now working to reclaim the land in time for the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring crop.

In the area along the Ba River, a large amount of waste has accumulated, causing blockages in many sections of the irrigation canal system. On the fields, a thick layer of sand and gravel, ranging from 10-20cm, has accumulated. Currently, specialized units have cleared the canals. Farmers are also focusing on improving their fields to prepare for planting the new crop.

During the recent historic floods, the irrigation system in Dak Lak province suffered heavy damage, with a total of 48 structures damaged and repair costs exceeding 72 billion VND. The People's Committee of Dak Lak province has assigned relevant units to urgently address the damage. The province is also providing rice seeds to farmers to help them resume production.

Thanks to Dak Lak province's efforts in repairing irrigation infrastructure and providing rice seeds to the people, the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring crop will alleviate some of the difficulties faced by people after the heavy losses caused by floods.
