Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Women's Affairs of the Vietnam Women's Union; representatives from the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education, Ministry of Education and Training ; and leaders of the City Women's Union co-chaired the event.

The workshop was also attended by leaders of departments and agencies; representatives of businesses, cooperatives, female workers and women with disabilities; and the Standing Committee of the Women's Union of 20 communes in remote and disadvantaged areas of the city.
At the workshop, several presentations addressed the opportunities and challenges faced by female workers in the context of digital transformation and economic integration; the role of the Vietnam Women's Union in disseminating information, mobilizing support, and connecting women to vocational training linked to the labor market; and policies supporting vocational training and job creation for female workers.
Many suggestions have been made to improve the quality of female human resources; enhance the role of women in promoting vocational training, and connect female human resources with current development needs.
Speaking at the workshop, Tran Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Women's Affairs of the Vietnam Women's Union, affirmed that the development of human resources, especially skilled human resources, is one of the three important strategic breakthroughs of the Party and the State, strongly affirmed in guiding documents and strategic resolutions of the Party.
In parallel with the Party's guidelines, the Government has issued many important mechanisms and policies to create strong impetus for the development of vocational education and ensure access to vocational training for all citizens, especially women and vulnerable workers.

Specifically, national target programs, vocational training policies for rural workers; the project: "Supporting women's entrepreneurship in the period 2026 - 2035"; the project "Supporting cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers until 2030"...
The current labor market features many new professions associated with digital transformation, green economy, circular economy, logistics, care services, tourism, hospitality, high-tech agriculture, etc., creating a great demand for female workers.
However, the rate of women participating in vocational training remains lower than that of men. Many women lack formal vocational skills, information about the labor market, and flexible apprenticeship opportunities.
In particular, rural women and women from ethnic minorities still face many barriers in accessing vocational education services...

Promoting vocational training for women, linking training with the practical needs of businesses, and enhancing the role of women in building a skilled workforce are important tasks set by the Vietnam Women's Union and its branches at all levels in the new period.
The goal is to strive for 40-45% of female workers nationwide to have vocational skills by 2030, while ensuring sustainable employment opportunities and economic development for women...
