On October 28, at the Government Office, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son received Deputy Governor of Guangdong Province (China) Truong Quoc Tri on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam and attending the Conference on coordination of cooperation between ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam and Guangdong Province.
In a sincere and friendly atmosphere, the two sides expressed their delight at the strong development of Vietnam-China relations as well as the positive progress in friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities with Guangdong province.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son congratulated China on successfully organizing the 4th Central Conference of the 20th tenure, giving directions for the construction of the 15th Five-Year Plan; and congratulated Guangdong province on continuing to achieve important achievements in socio- economic development with GDP in 2024 reaching over 2,000 billion USD, continuously ranking first in China for many years.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated the two sides' effective maintenance of the Cooperation Coordination Conference mechanism, affirming that the Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to, supports and creates favorable conditions for Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities to expand and further strengthen exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation with Guangdong province.
Sharing about Vietnam's socio-economic development in recent times and emphasizing that the potential for cooperation between the two sides is still very open, the Deputy Prime Minister hoped that Guangdong would effectively promote existing cooperation mechanisms, further strengthen exchanges with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities, support Vietnam in training officials, share experiences in economic development; and invite Guangdong provincial leaders to attend the Autumn Economic Forum.

Regarding substantive cooperation in various fields, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Guangdong, as China's largest consumer market, continue to open its doors further to Vietnamese goods, strengthen strategic development connections, and encourage businesses of both sides to promote cooperation in strategic infrastructure, digital economy, green economy, renewable energy, and the construction of smart industrial parks.
The Deputy Prime Minister also suggested that the two sides promote people-to-people exchange activities, especially among the younger generation; effectively implement the “Red Journey” for Vietnamese youth in Guangdong, enhance tourism cooperation, and open new air routes.
Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Truong Quoc Tri congratulated Vietnam on its great achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; affirmed that Guangdong attaches special importance to the friendly and cooperative relations with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities, is ready to well implement the high-level common perception, share development opportunities, and make practical contributions to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, and promote the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
Highly appreciating the results of the 9th Conference on coordination of cooperation between ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam and Guangdong province that just took place, Deputy Governor Truong Quoc Tri expressed his wish that the two sides would increase delegation exchanges at all levels, share development experiences, further promote existing cooperation mechanisms, expand exchanges and cooperation with other potential localities of Vietnam; promote cooperation in areas of both sides' needs and strengths such as trade and economy, interconnection, science and technology, smart urban management, and urban railways.
Promote people-to-people exchanges, promote revolutionary relics such as the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association Headquarters and the tomb of martyr Pham Hong Thai; effectively implement the "Red Journey" program, contributing to consolidating a solid social foundation for the Vietnam-China bilateral relationship./.
