Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung met with National Assembly deputies of Quang Tri province through the periods

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the morning of June 22, in Quang Tri, the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri province held a discussion and met with generations of National Assembly Deputies of the province through the periods, aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026).

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Prime Minister, National Assembly member of the 14th and 15th tenures of Quang Tri province; Le Quang Tung, Secretary General, Head of the National Assembly Office, former Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, National Assembly member of the 15th tenure of Quang Tri province; provincial leaders, and National Assembly members of Quang Tri province through the periods.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Hoang Duc Thang, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri province, said that these days the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly is taking place with historic decisions: Decision to amend a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution, organize a 2-level local government; not organize district-level administrative units, merge provincial and commune-level administrative units... In a few days, the locality will enter a new page in history when it officially operates a new unit when merging the two provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri.

"Today, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation organized a discussion and met with generations of Provincial National Assembly Deputies through the ages to honor the glorious history and heroic traditions of the Vietnamese National Assembly; review the memories and great contributions of generations of Provincial National Assembly Deputies and look forward to the 80th anniversary of the first General Election Day, electing the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026)", said Mr. Hoang Duc Thang.

The Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri Province affirmed that, over 8 decades of formation and development, the Vietnamese National Assembly has continuously grown, affirming its role as the highest State power agency, representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the people. Generations of National Assembly deputies have devoted all their enthusiasm, intelligence and patriotism, constantly striving and contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people; fulfilling the noble mission in the cause of building a rule-of-law State, fighting against foreign invaders, building the socialist North, fighting to liberate the South and unify the country, defending the Fatherland and the cause of national renewal and development today.

Along with the continuous development of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri province has gone through a long journey full of glory and pride. During 15 National Assembly terms, voters have placed their trust in 111 excellent delegates, who represent the voice and aspirations of the people, including many outstanding children of Quang Tri homeland, such as General Secretary Le Duan, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Huu Duc, Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers Tran Quynh, Minister and Head of the Office of the Council of Ministers Dang Thi...

"The long journey of the past 80 years has been truly glorious and proud, clearly demonstrating the maturity, dedication and sense of responsibility of National Assembly deputies through the generations. Each term of the National Assembly, each moment in that journey bears the mark of the deputies, the worthy representatives of the voice and aspirations of the people and also the people who carry out important missions in the highest authority of the State," Mr. Hoang Duc Thang expressed.

At the same time, he affirmed that during that journey, the Quang Tri Provincial National Assembly Delegation has always been a bridge to bring the aspirations, people's hearts, and wishes of the provincial leaders to the National Assembly, the Government, and central ministries and branches, thereby proposing policies and resources to promote the development of the province. The 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese National Assembly is an opportunity for us to look back and express gratitude for the valuable contributions of generations of National Assembly Deputies, and continue to strive to fulfill the important responsibilities entrusted to us by the Party, the State, and the people.

The seminar also listened to delegates review the 80-year tradition of the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and the results of the activities of the Quang Tri Provincial National Assembly Delegation, term XV, 2021-2025; share experiences and memories of National Assembly activities, and propose solutions to do better in the coming time.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee announced the Decision of Commendation of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the National Assembly Deputies of the Quang Tri Provincial National Assembly Delegation for their outstanding achievements in the activities of the National Assembly, contributing to the socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security of Quang Tri province, term 2021-2026.
