(DN) - The Government Office has issued Document No. 6392/VPCP-CN (dated July 10, 2025) to the Ministers of Construction, Finance and the Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to notify the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on the handling of the land area of ​​subdivision III, Binh Son Resettlement Area, Land Reclamation, Compensation and Resettlement Support Project of Long Thanh International Airport (airport).

Accordingly, considering the proposal of the Ministry of Construction in document No. 5849/BXD-KTQLXD (dated June 26, 2025), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, based on the opinion of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in document No. 2847/TB-TTKQH (dated October 5, 2023) and the provisions of the law, to guide the People's Committee of Dong Nai province in adjusting the Long Thanh Airport Land Acquisition, Compensation, and Resettlement Support Project in accordance with the correct procedures and authority. The deadline for completion is before July 20, 2025.

Previously, in report No. 5849 submitted to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the Ministry of Construction recommended that the Prime Minister assign the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to prepare the dossier and carry out the procedures for adjusting the Long Thanh Airport Land Acquisition, Compensation, and Resettlement Support Project in accordance with Government Decree No. 29/2021/ND-CP (dated March 26, 2021) on the procedures for appraising nationally important projects and monitoring and evaluating investment. The People's Committee of Dong Nai province is responsible for the accuracy of the contents submitted to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on the project adjustment.

In April 2025, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province submitted a document to the Prime Minister requesting that the Standing Committee of the National Assembly consider approving the policy of not investing in the area of ​​over 81 hectares in subdivision III of the Binh Son Resettlement Area and removing it from the Long Thanh Airport Land Acquisition, Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Project. At the same time, it requested approval for the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to retain this land (which has already been compensated) for socio -economic development according to the local planning.

Subdivision III of the Binh Son Resettlement Area was planned for the resettlement of households affected by the Long Thanh Airport Project. However, these households later expressed a desire to be resettled in the Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area. In 2024, Dong Nai province completed the compensation and land clearance process, handing over the entire Long Thanh Airport Project site and two connecting transportation routes to the investor. Simultaneously, the resettlement of affected households in the Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area was completed.
