The deputy head of the district police was injured while participating in firefighting efforts.

(NLĐO) - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Head of Kim Thanh District Police, and a local resident were injured while participating in firefighting efforts.

On February 3rd, the Kim Thanh District Police ( Hai Duong province) reported that in the early morning of the first day of Tet (January 29th), during the firefighting operation at a warehouse belonging to a local business, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Head of the Kim Thanh District Police, and a local resident were injured.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Chief of Police of Kim Thanh District, and one civilian were injured while participating in firefighting efforts.

Accordingly, at 0:25 AM on January 29th (the first day of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Snake), a task force led by the Kim Thanh District Police leadership, along with officers and soldiers of the unit, patrolled, inspected, and supervised the work of ensuring security and order and preventing the illegal use of firecrackers on New Year's Eve.

While traveling on National Highway 5, heading from Hai Phong to Hanoi , in the section belonging to Phuong Due village, Kim Xuyen commune, Kim Thanh district, the task force discovered a fire in a warehouse containing shoe insole materials made of paper and rubber, approximately 300 m2 in size, belonging to Duc Loi Trading and Investment Co., Ltd.

Upon discovering the incident, the task force called on local residents to help extinguish the fire. After about 20 minutes, the fire was put out, covering an area of ​​approximately 4 square meters, with negligible property damage.

However, during the approach to the fire, a fire extinguisher belonging to the company, which was inside the fire, exploded due to the heat. Sharp fragments were ejected and struck Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Head of Kim Thanh District Police, in the lower right leg, causing injury (2.5 cm deep, 15 cm long), and a civilian sustained minor injury to their right ear.

Shortly afterward, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu and the other residents were taken to the Kim Thanh District Medical Center for treatment; they have since returned home to continue their treatment.
