The contest had 40 contestants, divided into 8 teams from the Women's Unions of the communes: Tuy Phuoc Bac, Binh Hiep, Binh An, Tay Son, Binh Phu, Binh Khe, An Nhon Nam and Tuy Phuoc. The contest rules included practicing making traditional cakes, displaying trays of cakes, and presenting the meaning of the cakes.

The leader of the Gia Lai Provincial Women's Union said that the contest is part of a series of activities to commemorate the 233rd anniversary of the death of King Quang Trung (1792 - 2025). This is a unique cultural and culinary activity, contributing to honoring traditional culinary values, expressing gratitude to the Tay Son hero.
Gia Lai is not only famous for the Dam San epic, the Central Highlands gong culture space, the heroic Tay Son battle drums, but also known for its rich folk cuisine.

The contest not only contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural identity, but also honors the role and skillful hands of women in keeping the family fire burning, turning folk cuisine into a typical cultural product; contributing to promoting the image of the homeland on the culinary map of Vietnam and the world .






On the same day (September 19), at An Khe Truong relic site (An Khe ward, Gia Lai province), the Prayer ceremony took place on the occasion of the 233rd anniversary of King Quang Trung's death. Attending were Mr. Rah Lan Chung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Duong Mah Tiep, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with a large number of local people, cadres and soldiers.
