ANTD.VN - Following the revelations about its scale and activities, what makes visitors look forward to the Oriental Light Festival at Ocean City is also Fosun, the owner of the Yuyuan Lantern Festival – recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The allure of lantern legends
Considered one of the must-see cultural experiences when visiting Shanghai (China), the Yuyuan Garden Lantern Festival is held in Yuyuan Garden during the Lunar New Year. This event has become a highlight of Shanghai's tourism industry, attracting not only millions of locals but also a large number of international tourists.
Becoming a highlight of the Lunar New Year celebrations, each Yuyuan Festival is associated with the image of the 12 zodiac animals of the year. Each year, these mascots are transformed into different themes, conveying meaningful messages to locals and tourists.

As in 2024, the Yuyuan Garden Lantern Festival was themed "Exploring Mountains and Seas," featuring a giant dragon model, the zodiac animal of the year, along with thousands of other scenic lanterns. At this 29th edition of the cultural festival, up to 200,000 visitors visited Yuyuan Garden each day, reaching 700,000 visitors during the Lunar New Year.
Notably, at the same time, Fosun Group also amazed visitors in Paris (France) by bringing 60 giant lantern clusters and 2,000 other lanterns from the Yuyuan Garden Lantern Festival to the European City of Lights. With the theme "Shan Hai Jing" (Classic of Mountains and Seas), inspired by ancient Chinese mythology, Fosun transformed The Jardin d'Acclimatation into a vibrant space for exploring Eastern culture.
The event's appeal was evident in the fact that over 4,000 visitors flocked to The Jardin d'Acclimatation every hour, forming a long line stretching across two streets. "I haven't seen such a large crowd in years!" exclaimed the president of the Jardin d'Acclimatation on the opening day of the exhibition.

Even after visiting this Lantern Festival, public space officials in several cities surrounding Paris expressed a desire to introduce the Yuyuan Garden Lantern Festival. This demonstrates the appeal of Fosun's lantern products, as well as the attractiveness of the "Shan Hai Jing" exhibition to visitors.
In 2025, in collaboration with Vinhomes, Yuyuan Garden's next destination, featuring unique lanterns that once captivated the glamorous city of Paris, will be Ocean City. This will be one of the highlights of the 2025 Oriental Light Festival – the first of its kind to be held in Hanoi's eastern destination city. Fosun and Yuyuan Garden will contribute to transforming this mega-city into a top tourist destination in the northern region during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake.
Heritage "blockbuster" arrives in Vietnam for the first time.
According to information from Vinhomes and Fosun, the Oriental Light Festival at Ocean City will be a cultural fusion between Vietnam, China, and many other Asian countries. Accordingly, the lantern masterpieces from Fosun will be designed around the theme of "Lingnan Chichuai and Shanhaijing - Mythical Creatures of the East." Visitors will be able to admire mythical creatures from ancient books from the Warring States period of China, as well as divine and mythical beast figures from Vietnamese folklore.
The exhibition also features familiar symbols from Eastern culture such as the carp transforming into a dragon, the White Dragon, the golden turtle, the tree spirit… which are evidence of the history of cultural exchange between nations and peoples.
Large-scale, magnificent works of art such as the Dong A Dragon Gate, the Phu Tang Sacred Tree, the Golden Turtle God, and the Red Snake Playing in Spring will bring to life the mythological universe of the East, opening up an inspiring cultural exploration journey for millions of tourists.

Organized to be the largest Spring Festival in Vietnam at Ocean City, from January 18th to March 16th, visitors to the megacity will be able to discover 580 unique events, shopping, dining, and entertainment activities spanning 58 days.
Visitors will have the opportunity to shop to their heart's content at the Ocean Spring Fair, the "best, tastiest, and most festive" Spring Festival, comprising three main fair series. Notably, for the first time, the Giang Vo Spring Fair will return with a "4,000-Year Tet, 5 Kingdoms Tet" edition, featuring nearly 200 stalls that not only revive traditional Vietnamese Tet culture but also showcase Tet culture from around the world with specialties from China, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom, and Türkiye.
| Ocean City will continue to maintain its role as the most vibrant Tet celebration destination in the region. |
With a total of 580 unique and exciting activities and 1,000 culinary and shopping experiences, the Oriental Light Festival is expected to create the most spectacular Spring Festival, setting a new record at Ocean City. At the same time, it affirms Ocean City's position as an international-class cultural and entertainment center, and the most attractive tourist destination in Northern Vietnam.
