Hong Bang District launches a campaign to prevent and combat crimes and violations of laws related to weapons, explosives, supporting tools, fireworks, and sky lanterns.

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of December 21, the People's Committee of Hong Bang District organized a conference to launch a high-intensity campaign to prevent and combat crimes and violations of laws regarding weapons, explosives, supporting tools, fireworks, and sky lanterns before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024 in the district.

The campaign aims to continue strictly enforcing legal regulations on weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, and sky lanterns; resolutely preventing the illegal use of weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, and sky lanterns, in conjunction with the effective implementation of the crime crackdown campaign and ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024.

This intensive campaign will be implemented from December 15, 2023 to February 29, 2024. Hong Bang District identifies the prevention and fight against violations related to the management and use of weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, "sky lanterns," and other prohibited dangerous violent toys as a regular and continuous task for all levels, sectors, the Fatherland Front Committee, and mass organizations. The district is launching this intensive campaign with the motto of prioritizing prevention, mobilizing the combined strength of the political system at the grassroots level and all strata of the people to actively participate, and implementing comprehensive and decisive measures to accurately understand, analyze, assess, and predict the situation in order to have effective preventive measures.

During the campaign, Hong Bang district intensified its efforts in propaganda, guidance, inspection, investigation, and strict handling of violations of the law to raise awareness so that everyone would voluntarily comply with and actively participate in strictly implementing the legal regulations on weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, and "sky lanterns". Heads of departments, units, school principals in the district, and chairpersons of the People's Committees of the wards should uphold the responsibility of leaders, focusing on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, and sky lanterns. They should coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and political and social organizations to vigorously launch the movement "All citizens participate in surrendering weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, sky lanterns, and dangerous violent toys that are prohibited," and to detect and handle violations. They should innovate and promote widespread dissemination and education with rich, diverse, vivid, and easily understandable content and forms to all levels of the population about the harmful effects of weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, and sky lanterns, and warn of the dangers of weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, etc.
