Hong Bang District launched a peak campaign to prevent and combat crimes and violations of the law on weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, and "sky lanterns".

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of December 21, the People's Committee of Hong Bang District held a conference to launch a peak period of preventing and combating crimes and violations of the law on weapons, explosives, supporting tools, fireworks, and "sky lanterns" before, during and after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024 in the district.

The peak period aims to continue to strictly implement legal regulations on weapons, explosives, supporting tools, fireworks and "sky lanterns"; resolutely prevent the illegal use of weapons, explosives, supporting tools, setting off fireworks and releasing "sky lanterns", associated with effectively implementing the peak period of attacking and suppressing crimes, ensuring security and order during the 2024 Lunar New Year.

This peak period will be carried out from December 15, 2023 to February 29, 2024. Hong Bang District identifies the work of preventing and combating violations in the management and use of weapons, explosives, supporting tools, firecrackers, "sky lanterns" and other prohibited dangerous violent toys as a regular and continuous task of all levels, sectors, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and organizations; the district launches this peak period with the motto of taking prevention as the main focus, mobilizing the combined strength of the political system at the grassroots level and all classes of people to actively participate, synchronously and drastically deploy measures to grasp, analyze, evaluate, and forecast the situation closely and accurately to have effective preventive measures.

During the peak period, Hong Bang district stepped up propaganda, guidance, inspection, investigation, and strict handling of law violations to raise awareness so that people voluntarily comply with and actively participate in strictly implementing legal regulations on weapons, explosives, support tools, fireworks, and "sky lanterns". Heads of departments, offices, units, principals of schools in the district and Chairmen of People's Committees of wards shall uphold the sense of responsibility of the head, focus on directing the improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency of State management of weapons, explosives, supporting tools, firecrackers, "sky lanterns", coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and political and social organizations to strongly launch the movement "All people participate in handing over weapons, explosives, supporting tools, firecrackers, "sky lanterns", prohibited dangerous violent toys and detect and handle violations. Innovate, promote propaganda, dissemination, andeducation with rich, diverse, vivid, and easy-to-understand content and forms to all classes of people about the harmful effects of "sky lanterns", warning about the dangers of weapons, explosives, supporting tools, firecrackers, etc.

At the Conference, the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the wards signed a commitment to implement the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives, and Support Tools, Decree 137/2020/ND-CP of the Government, and Decision 95/2005/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister .
