
The whole commune recorded 11 major landslides on roads, residential areas, and mountains. Tra Oi and Son villages were severely isolated due to landslides and broken roads. Many residential areas in Tra Kem and Tra Veo villages (near Tra Xinh Medical Station) were also isolated.
Mr. Lam said that the locality has reserved food for people to use for 1-2 days, and is ready to respond when the weather temporarily stabilizes.

According to the Chairman of Tay Tra Commune People's Committee, the flood also caused landslides in 6 houses, of which 1 house completely collapsed in Tra Nga village, 5 other houses were severely damaged. Fortunately, no human casualties were recorded.

Landslide buries Tra Xinh Medical Station
On the morning of October 29, Mr. Ho Ngoc Van, Party Secretary of Tay Tra Commune ( Quang Ngai Province), said that a serious landslide had just occurred in the area, damaging part of Tra Xinh Medical Station.

Accordingly, at around 3am the same day, many blocks of earth and rock from the mountainside suddenly collapsed onto the medical station area, burying the parking lot and roof. The corrugated iron roof and surrounding walls were severely damaged.
At the time of the incident, medical staff on duty managed to escape safely before the rocks and soil flooded in.

Mr. Truong Cong Lam, Chairman of Tay Tra Commune People's Committee, said that due to the prolonged heavy rain, the authorities have not been able to reach the scene to fully assess the damage. However, medical examination and treatment have not been interrupted because the commune still has two other medical facilities, including the old Tra Bong District Medical Center, which are qualified to receive and care for people during the prolonged period of heavy rain and flooding.
Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Do Tam Hien said that in recent days, the whole province has had heavy to very heavy rain, many measuring stations recorded rainfall of over 1,600mm. Many localities such as Phuoc Giang, Nghia Hanh, Di Lang, Binh Duong , Binh Minh, Truong Giang are deeply flooded, in some places the flood water has risen from 1 to 2.5m.


In Phuoc Giang commune, more than 1,000 houses were flooded 1-2 meters deep; in mountainous areas, the locality evacuated 1,252 people from areas at risk of landslides and flash floods to safety. The whole province recorded 15 houses damaged by landslides.

One commune has up to 45 landslides.
In Tay Tra Bong commune (Quang Ngai), Mr. Bui Thanh Dung, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said that the flood and landslide situation in the area is becoming increasingly complicated. In the past 24 hours, exceptionally heavy rainfall was recorded, from 300-350mm.

The whole commune recorded 45 landslides, of which 6 landslides occurred on Provincial Road 622B (section through Tra Linh village), 6 landslides occurred on Provincial Road 626 (section through Vang village) and 33 landslides occurred on commune-managed roads; 7 houses were severely damaged by landslides.

According to Mr. Dung, the locality has requested the Department of Construction to direct the Road Management Department to urgently fix landslides on Provincial Roads 622B and 626, quickly clear the congestion, and ensure safety for people and vehicles...
