
Authorities are trying to overcome the consequences and urgently clear the roads. However, due to complicated developments of the floods, many roads that had been cleared for traffic have become congested again.
Currently, there are 29 traffic jams on the national highways managed by the Central Government, mainly concentrated on the West branch of Ho Chi Minh Road through Hue City; National Highway 1 through Quang Tri Province; and the East Truong Son Road in Da Nang City.
In particular, the La Son - Hoa Lien route is completely blocked at km42+800, and is expected to reopen to traffic on 11/7; there is a longitudinal crack at km50+700 - km50+800 that is currently closed to traffic.
There are still 8 traffic jams on the national highways managed by the locality, of which National Highway 49 is temporarily closed; National Highway 14H has a location with water about 1 meter deep.
Vietnam Road Administration said that while roads are still heavily affected by storm No. 12, the entire industry has had to immediately deploy solutions to respond to storm Kalmaegi under the direction of the Ministry of Construction .
At the same time, the Ministry of Construction requested the road and railway sectors to coordinate in arranging vehicles, equipment, and materials to quickly repair landslide-affected routes, serving the transportation of relief goods and people's travel.
