Support to school
During the cold winter days in the mountainous areas of the western part of the province, when the fog still covers the remote communes of Pa Vay Su, Xin Man, Nam Dan, etc., the footsteps of students are still steady on the slippery dirt road leading to class. For many children in the highlands, going to school is not only a journey to find knowledge but also a journey to overcome poverty, lack of food and clothing. In order to support students, in 2024, the Pa Vay Su Commune Youth Union connected with the "Connecting Hearts" youth group in Hanoi to establish the "Child Support Fund". Since then, the Fund has maintained support for many students in especially difficult circumstances to excel in their studies and life.
Orphaned from a young age, Thao Seo Di (born in 2018), La Chi Chai village, Pa Vay Su commune, has had many difficulties in life, lacking both material and spiritual things. Di was at risk of dropping out of school many times. At that difficult time, she was supported by the Pa Vay Su commune Youth Union under the "Child Support Fund" program. The amount of 300,000 VND/month for Di was an extremely meaningful source of funding, not only helping her have more money to cover her living expenses but also motivating her to continue going to school.
Vang Van Huy (born in 2021) is a Mong ethnic, living in Cum Phinh village, Nam Dan commune, living with his grandmother in a damaged and degraded rammed earth house. Huy's father is currently working away from home for many years and has not returned home. The family's circumstances are difficult because the economy only depends on corn and rice grown in one crop. Although still young, Huy faces the risk of not being able to continue going to school because the family cannot afford to pay for his studies. Last October, through the Youth Union of Nam Dan commune, Vang Van Huy received support from the "Fund to raise children", helping Huy continue going to school like his peers. Mrs. Giang Thi Rot (Vang Van Huy's grandmother) shared: The family is very poor, today receiving financial support, the family is very happy and thanks you very much.
Spread love
The initial starting point of the "Children's Fund" was to support 12 students with difficult circumstances in Pa Vay Su commune. After bringing practical results, the "Children's Fund" has expanded to support 18 students in Pa Vay Su commune and is currently expanding to Nam Dan commune with a support fund of 300 thousand VND/person/month.
Comrade Giang Thi Mai, Secretary of the Pa Vay Su Commune Youth Union, said: Currently, the Pa Vay Su Commune Youth Union is the representative to donate funds to students with especially difficult circumstances. After more than 2 years of operation, the "Child Support Fund" has brought about profound humanitarian meaning, helping children have more resources and funds to study and cover living expenses.
Every month, the Youth Union of the communes in Xin Man area has the task of collecting information and family circumstances of the children, from which to create profiles, develop plans and implement them. The implementation process is transparent and has the support of local Party committees and authorities.
From a small action but with profound humanitarian meaning, with the goal of spreading love from the community, especially promoting the pioneering spirit of union members and youth towards children in especially difficult circumstances, "Child Support Fund" is not only simply a financial support, but also nurtures dreams and beliefs for the green buds in the highlands who are rising up day by day in the face of difficulties to change their lives through letters.
