Vietnam Boxing officially informs about the federation's leadership

(NLDO) - The Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) requests that individuals and organizations not post information until there is an official conclusion.

On the afternoon of September 5th, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) held an online meeting to discuss activities and current issues in Vietnamese boxing. A key focus for the remaining months of 2025 will be organizing the National Championship in Ho Chi Minh City (from October 2nd to 12th).

The VBF is also actively preparing the national team to be ready for the 33rd SEA Games and future international competitions. This is the top priority for Vietnamese boxing in 2025.

Regarding the prolonged absence of VBF Chairman Luu Tu Bao from Vietnam, and even rumors linking him to international criminal organizations, VBF explained: Mr. Luu Tu Bao went to the United States for family matters in February 2025 and had to deal with some personal issues, so he is temporarily unable to return to Vietnam.

According to the VBF charter, Mr. Luu Tu Bao will sign the authorization letter, delegating the management of the federation's activities to the Vice President and General Secretary of the VBF, Nguyen Duy Hung, from the date of receiving the authorization document until the end of March 2026.

If, due to unforeseen circumstances, a written authorization signed by Mr. Luu Tu Bao is not possible, the VBF will still entrust the federation's leadership to Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, ensuring smooth operations as planned.

Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Duy Hung will temporarily take charge of the federation.

To date, VBF has not received any official notification from the authorities regarding Mr. Luu Tu Bao's past personal activities, or activities during the period he was not in Vietnam. VBF is not responsible for the non-professional activities of its members, including Mr. Luu Tu Bao.

In the event that Mr. Luu Tu Bao receives official written decisions from domestic or international authorities regarding violations of the law, the VBF will discuss and propose to relevant ministries (Vietnam Sports Administration, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Interior ) to request permission to hold an extraordinary general meeting to elect a new president, ensuring the smooth direction, management, and implementation of all VBF activities in accordance with the law.

There is no official information from domestic or international authorities regarding Mr. Liu Xiubao.

Along with authorizing Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung as the official spokesperson for all activities of the federation, VBF also requests that individuals and organizations refrain from disseminating unsubstantiated information that could affect the reputation of individuals and the VBF collective, until official conclusions are reached by relevant authorities both domestically and internationally.
