On the morning of September 24th, Quy Nhon United Club (formerly Quy Nhon Binh Dinh) announced Coach Dinh Hong Vinh as the Club President, a significant milestone marking the beginning of the rebuilding journey for the team from Binh Dinh province.
Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh has been involved in many memorable milestones: from the Vietnam U20 team's first appearance at the 2017 World Cup, to the journey of the Vietnam U23 team under coach Park Hang Seo, and most recently, winning the ASEAN Cup 2024 with the national team.
Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh is currently an assistant to the head coach of the Vietnamese national team, Kim Sang Sik. He was previously selected as the interim coach of the Vietnamese U23 team for the CFA China Team 2024 and 2025 international friendly tournaments in China.
During the FIFA Days in September, Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh was once again chosen as the interim head coach of the Vietnamese national team while coach Kim Sang Sik was busy leading the Vietnamese U23 team in the 2026 U23 Asian Championship qualifiers.
Born and raised in Binh Dinh, Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh played for Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC before transitioning to coaching. Therefore, becoming the president of Quy Nhon United FC feels like returning home to him.
He shared: "Returning to my hometown to contribute to the team is a great honor for me. This is a challenging journey, but I will work together with the team to do our best to build a professional, united team with a distinctive playing style and leave a lasting impression on the fans."
Quy Nhon United FC is having a rather difficult start to the 2025-2026 season. Coach Tran Duy Quang's team lost to Long An FC in the qualifying round of the National Cup and were held to a 1-1 draw by the Van Hien University student team right on their home ground in Quy Nhon in the opening match of the First Division League.
Before accepting the position of president of Quy Nhon United Club, Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh was the President and CEO of the former Ba Ria Vung Tau Club.
He is also the CEO of Binh Minh Group Academy (formerly known as Juventus Vietnam).
