Launch of Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum

40km north of Hanoi, Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum is located on the shore of Dai Lai Lake, part of the Flamingo Dai Lai Resort complex. This is a unique and large-scale private outdoor museum, the crystallization of the Art In The Forest (AIF) project - a non-profit project held annually since 2015 with meticulous investment, from artists, quality of works to exhibition space. Spread across the 1.23 million square meter space of Flamingo Dai Lai Resort, blending in with the vast green of nature, the Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum includes 56 sculptures made of stone, aluminum, wood, stainless steel and nearly 70 paintings with lacquer, oil, acrylic materials... These works are the result of serious artistic creation over the past 6 years by many artists from Vietnam, Canada, the US, France, Japan, Nepal, Italy, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Spain...

The Flamingo Museum of Contemporary Art was launched on December 26 at Flamingo Dai Lai Resort with more than 120 artworks, contributed by nearly 70 domestic and international artists. On this occasion, the collection of the Flamingo Museum of Contemporary Art was also officially presented to the public.

All of these achievements are displayed scattered throughout the resort, hidden under the pine forest. The Museum Center is a cluster of containers - where many small paintings and sculptures are present, located on an area of ​​4 hectares and designed since 2017. This is also a place where artists work, practice and discuss art while nurturing ideas for large-scale sculptures. Currently, this area is still being expanded by installing more new containers. Container Bar is located in the middle of the windy pine forest of Flamingo Dai Lai Resort - a stop on the journey to visit the Flamingo Museum of Contemporary Art. There are private corners to chat, point the camera at the vast pine forest or leisurely enjoy a cup of coffee next to contemporary works of art.

Not only impressing with the massive amount of works that continue to be added every year, the Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum is also a unique combination of the poetic beauty of nature and the talented hands of human creation. In other words, "the largest lakeside art space in Vietnam" contributes to honoring the beauty of each work, helping the art here to live an independent life with the community. While AIF is about art in the forest, we can also say that the Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum is an "art forest". Sharing about the birth of the Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - General Director of Flamingo Holding Group Joint Stock Company affirmed: This has realized the aspiration to establish a continental-scale art space for painting, a unique outdoor sculpture park located in the heart of "Top 10 most beautiful resorts in the world ". Just as the founders of the project wished. “Today's artworks will contribute to a large art space of the future, so that the spirit of art and responsibility for art will continue to spread,” said Ms. Hanh.

As part of the launching event of the Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum, the collection of the Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum was also officially presented to the public. Up to now, 6 exhibition seasons have been held, the collection of works has also become thicker, the Flamingo Contemporary Art Museum has connected souls with the same taste for art and sent to the public many profound philosophies of life, at the same time turning the lands with Flamingo footprints into a playground outside the economic burden - where there are only ideals, dreams and hearts that love art.

The Flamingo Museum of Contemporary Art opened on December 26, 2020 and will continue through the 2021 annual exhibition season.
