Launching a high-intensity campaign to combat crime and ensure security and order during political events and festivals.

On the morning of December 12th, the Vinh Long Provincial Police held a ceremony to launch a high-intensity campaign to attack and suppress crime, ensuring security and order for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, and other major national events and early year festivals.

Comrade Nguyen Quynh Thien, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech giving directions.

Also present were leaders from the Provincial Police Department, the Provincial Military Command, departments, agencies, professional units, and local police.

Implementing the intensive plan, the police force throughout the province is focusing on attacking and suppressing all types of crime, maintaining political security and social order, and preventing any unexpected or sudden incidents. They are effectively implementing preventive measures, aiming to reduce the number of social order-related cases by at least 7%. The goal is to improve the crime investigation and detection rate. Furthermore, they are stepping up efforts to build drug-free communes and wards, control and ensure traffic safety, and strictly handle violations.

Major General Nguyen Thanh Hai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of the Provincial Police, issued the order to launch the intensive campaign.

Furthermore, the police force is determined to effectively implement the "three best" emulation movement: most disciplined, most loyal, and closest to the people, ready to accept and successfully complete all assigned tasks. They are launching the "All People Protect National Security" movement, mobilizing the strength of the entire political system and all citizens to participate in preventing and combating all types of crime.

Comrade Nguyen Quynh Thien requested that the police force decisively and comprehensively implement measures to assess, identify, and effectively combat all types of crime. The provincial police, in coordination with departments, agencies, and organizations, should strengthen propaganda and dissemination efforts to raise awareness of law compliance. They should improve the effectiveness of state management in the following areas: mineral resource exploitation, food safety and hygiene, management of industries and businesses subject to security and order conditions; management of weapons, explosives, support tools, and fireworks. They should also ensure traffic safety and fire prevention and control.

Police officers marched in support of the launch of the peak campaign, demonstrating their determination to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

Local authorities have thoroughly understood and seriously implemented the directives of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on ensuring security and order. They have promoted the role and responsibility of leaders, combined with propaganda among all cadres, Party members, and the people, to effectively carry out the intensive campaign.
