Among the students receiving scholarships this year, 6 students received full scholarships. These are the most prestigious scholarships the school offers to high school students with excellent academic performance, outstanding leadership potential and a spirit of community engagement.

The rigorous selection process includes three rounds: application review, screening, and a final interview in English. Applicants must submit a personal statement, letters of recommendation, a video , and a portfolio of extracurricular activities. This year, six students were selected from 172 applicants, demonstrating the high competitiveness of the scholarship category.

Other scholarships, worth between 25% and 50% of tuition fees, are allocated across various categories, including scholarships for majors, academic excellence, international student scholarships and postgraduate scholarships.

“In Vietnam and everywhere else RMIT University has a presence, we are committed to empowering individuals and communities to thrive and prosper for generations, based on three pillars: education, research and civic engagement,” Associate Professor Kok said.

Removing barriers, creating opportunities

One of the highlights of this year’s scholarship program is the continued success of the Wings of Dreams Scholarship, which awarded four scholarships to students with disabilities or financial difficulties. Since its launch in 2014, the Wings of Dreams Scholarship has awarded 46 scholarships worth more than VND78.3 billion.

RMIT Vietnam also extends the impact and effectiveness of the scholarship category through collaboration with non-profit organizations in the selection process and related activities.

Each Opportunity Scholarship covers English and undergraduate tuition fees, along with a monthly living allowance, a laptop and travel assistance if needed. Students also have access to the school’s world-class faculty, a hands-on curriculum and a globally-recognized learning environment.

“I encourage all scholarship recipients to make the most of their learning and experience opportunities at RMIT, in order to create meaningful values and make positive contributions to the community and society as a whole,” Associate Professor Kok said.

In his closing remarks at the two ceremonies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Associate Professor Kok also expressed his thanks to those who accompanied the students on their journey to where they are today.

“Thank you parents, family and friends for believing in the students, supporting and accompanying them,” he said.

The RMIT Vietnam Scholarship Awards Ceremony not only recognises individual achievements but also marks a quarter of a decade of impact-making at RMIT, empowering students, shaping communities and building brighter futures through education.
