Rory McIlroy wins the 2025 Irish Open golf tournament.

(Dan Tri) - Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy won the Irish Open tournament. The tournament ended on September 8 (Vietnam time).

At the end of the final day of competition, Rory McIlroy finished with a total score of -17 strokes. This score was tied with Joakim Lagergren (Sweden), forcing the two golfers to play a playoff.

As a result, in the play-off series, Rory McIlroy performed better, helping him win the overall championship. Joakim Lagergren finished second.

Meanwhile, the two Spanish golfers, Angel Hidalgo and Rafa Cabrera-Bello, finished tied for third place (tied for third overall), with a total score of -13 strokes each.

Conversely, former world number one Brooks Koepka (USA) did not perform well in this year's tournament. He only managed a total score of +7 strokes before being eliminated halfway through the competition.

The Irish Open is a tournament in the DP World Tour (one of the three most prestigious golf tour systems in the world, alongside the PGA Tour and LIV Golf). The tournament attracts many renowned golfers from Europe and some strong American golfers.

With his victory at the 2025 Irish Open, Rory received prize money of $1.02 million (approximately 27 billion VND). The runner-up, Joakim Lagergren, received $660,000 (approximately 17.4 billion VND).
