On the very first day of competition in the men's football event of the 33rd SEA Games at Rajamangala Stadium, a rare incident occurred when the sound system on the field was not working, forcing the U.23 Vietnam and Laos players in the opening match of Group B at 4 p.m. to sing the national anthem themselves.

U.23 Vietnam and Laos players had to sing the national anthem themselves before the match, because the sound system at Rajamangala Stadium was completely silent.

This incident, along with the reflection of reporter Suradet Aphaiwong of TNN channel, also said that on the morning of December 3, the organizing committee of Rajamangala stadium inspected and discovered that many light bulbs of the lighting system on the stadium were damaged and there were no spare bulbs to replace them.
"The first day of the 33rd SEA Games was very exciting and chaotic. The men's football matches will take place today (December 3), but some of the light bulbs at Rajamangala Stadium were broken and there were no spare bulbs to replace them.
The stadium organizers had to rush to Korat and borrow some light bulbs from the stadium here to replace them. This is the main stadium of Nakhon Ratchasima FC, the team is preparing to play against BG Pathum United on December 7 in the Thai League 1, and it is not clear whether everything will work or not," reporter Suradet Aphaiwong wrote on his personal Facebook account.
According to Thairath Online , Rajamangala Stadium was renovated with a large budget (up to 125 million baht) to best prepare for events at the 33rd SEA Games, including the opening ceremony on December 9 and hosting men's football matches in groups A and B, as well as the semi-finals and finals.

Rajamangala Stadium's grass also showed signs of being unsafe with many bumps and dents appearing.

However, when the 33rd SEA Games started, everything was not ready and incidents occurred, notably the sound problem and damaged lighting system before the match between U.23 Vietnam and U.23 Laos.
In addition to this match, at 7 p.m. on December 3, Rajamangala Stadium will continue to host the opening match of the host U.23 Thailand against U.23 Timor Leste. It is unclear whether the problems with the lights and sound on the field will be repaired in time, according to Thairath Online .
