Da Lat Stadium, worth more than 270 billion VND, peels off after a short time of use

(Dan Tri) - Once expected to be a symbol of sports in the highlands, Da Lat Stadium is now degraded, with peeling paint and cracked walls, even though it was only put into use at the end of 2023.

Da Lat Stadium was built on high ground in Langbiang Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong. This is a project within the Lam Dong Cultural - Sports Complex Project, invested by the Lam Dong Provincial Cultural - Sports Complex Construction Investment Project Management Board (now the Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Project Management Board).

According to information, the Lam Dong Cultural - Sports Complex Project has a total investment of over 274 billion VND, started in 2013. Of which, Da Lat Stadium is the main project, built in early 2020, completed and put into use at the end of 2023.

Currently, although put into use not long ago, many items of the stadium are damaged and degraded.

A foundation position on the outside of the stands of Da Lat Stadium appears to be cracked and subsided.

Many locations on the stadium's drainage system are broken or missing covers. Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, a resident of Langbiang Ward - Da Lat said: "The stadium was newly built but is damaged everywhere. The construction is new but looks like a long-abandoned building."

Paint and wall tiles in the sports training building in the stadium are peeling and damaged.

In the category of stairs and walls surrounding the stadium (outside the stands), the authorities used black granite to cover and pave, creating highlights for the project. However, many locations were encroached and vandalized by the people.

Black granite at the foot of the stairs into the stadium grounds was removed and stolen.

In the outer ring of the stadium stands, the authorities used granite to pave the ground. However, the stone slabs were physically impacted, cracked, broken, and severely damaged. In the photo, a worker repairs the damaged stone surface.

The stairs leading up to Da Lat Stadium are overgrown with grass and bushes like an abandoned building.

The internal road leading to Da Lat Stadium has become a place to collect all kinds of waste. "Many days, people drive trucks carrying construction waste to pile up on the side of the road but no agency comes forward to handle it. At this rate, the stadium will become a landfill, no one dares to come," said Ms. Tran Thu Nga, a resident of Langbiang Ward - Da Lat.
