A man recently discovered his wife's secret and he was unable to forgive her.

Man (43 years old) and his wife (44 years old) have been married for 20 years. The man shared his story on Reddit, as a way of expressing his feelings, not because he needed advice.

They both attended community college for a year, then went on to university in the same city. After a period of long-distance relationship, they moved in together. The couple married the summer after Man graduated from university. For two decades they were happy and harmonious. Until a terrible secret was revealed at a dinner with friends.

One day, right after Christmas, the couple decided to hang out with some friends from university. While together, they talked a lot, and Man and her husband reminisced about their college days. Her university roommate commented that she couldn't believe they had stayed together for so long. Even Man and her husband felt their love was truly miraculous; they had known and dated for quite a long time, beyond their 20 years of marriage.

Man's roommates started recounting old stories, but his wife suddenly interrupted, saying she wasn't comfortable with it. All of his friends fell silent, and the rest of the dinner was awkward. On the way out, one of her other roommates pulled Man aside and advised him to "talk things out" about what had happened at university.

She said that at the time she didn't consider it a big deal because they lived far apart. She also thought their college romance wouldn't last. Man pressed her for more information, and his wife revealed there were at least 10 different men, including three whom she introduced as friends when he visited her on weekends and one with whom she was still in contact. Man immediately decided to file for divorce and planned to begin the paperwork as soon as possible.

Many people advised Man to calm down, saying that even if his wife had cheated, it was in the past. But this man believed that his wife's infidelity with multiple men over the years was unacceptable, regardless of when it happened. And her continuing relationships with these men right in front of him was a sign of disrespect.

The couple has two children, ages 17 and 19. So Man is sure the kids will understand why he needs to end the marriage.
