On May 30, Master, Doctor Nguyen Cong Van, Head of the Department of Cardiology, Xuyen A Long An General Hospital, said the patient was diagnosed with acute inferior myocardial infarction, complications of cardiogenic shock, and bradyarrhythmia.

Immediately afterwards, the patient's blood pressure was stabilized, and he was quickly taken to the interventional room, where a temporary pacemaker was placed to maintain his heart rhythm and coronary angiography was performed. The result was that the patient had a complete blockage of the middle section of the right coronary artery. The patient was successfully aspirated and stented. After the procedure, the patient was stable and discharged after 5 days of treatment.

Taking the medical history, the patient said that he had never had any chronic diseases before, sometimes had short chest pains, but the pains passed quickly so the patient was subjective and did not go to the doctor. This time, after drinking alcohol, he suddenly had chest pains accompanied by fatigue, shortness of breath, and sweating so the patient was taken to the emergency room.

Doctor Nguyen Cong Van said that acute myocardial infarction is a dangerous cardiovascular event, a disease that often occurs in middle-aged people, accompanied by chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidemia... However, recently the average age of acute myocardial infarction patients is gradually getting younger.

"It can be seen that cardiovascular disease is no longer a disease of the elderly, but can be found in young people, even very young people. In the group of young myocardial infarction patients, it is often less related to chronic diseases, but more often related to overweight, lack of exercise, stress, and abuse of tobacco and alcohol," Dr. Van shared.

To prevent cardiovascular events, doctors recommend that young people should adjust their lifestyle and have a scientific and reasonable living regimen; have a physical exercise regimen, maintain a reasonable weight, avoid stress, do not abuse tobacco, alcohol... In particular, do not subjectively ignore suspected signs of cardiovascular disease such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations... but should see a doctor immediately when there is an abnormality or have regular health check-ups.
