Secret Garden with "Nocturne":
On the evening of October 18, nearly 4,000 Vietnamese audiences at the National Convention Center felt like they were lost in a garden of music and emotions for 2 hours when Secret Garden performed for the first time in Vietnam, bringing more than 20 famous songs from the group's 30-year journey.
Hanoi was chosen by the legendary Nordic band as the opening destination for their global tour marking 3 decades of their career. Secret Garden Live in Vietnam is the third program in the series of international music projects for the community Good Morning Vietnam initiated by Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group Vietnam with the aim of bringing world- class music to Vietnam, while spreading the cultural and historical values of the beautiful country of Vietnam to the world.
Not only performing live for Hanoi audiences, Secret Garden will also make a music video in Ninh Binh to promote tourism in Vietnam before continuing the tour. However, which song will be chosen for the music video is still a secret to the audience.
During the concert, the audience burst into tears when they heard Secret Garden perform live for the first time familiar songs that they had listened to for many years. That was Nocturne - the work that made the group's name when they won the Eurovision contest in 1995. That was Song From A Secret Garden - the title track of the group's first album released in 1996 and also one of the group's most listened to songs.
That is the classic hit You raise me up that millions of audiences around the world know by heart. This is also the most covered song of Secret Garden with more than 1400 recordings in 50 different languages, bringing fame to many singers and bands later such as Josh Groban, Westlife....

Rolf Løvland (piano) and Fionnuala Sherry (violin) proved to be a great piece of the Secret Garden with music and style that is completely different from the rest of the world. While Rolf Løvland chose a neat and classic style, calmly gliding on the piano keys placed in the center of the stage, Fionnuala Sherry was unpredictable with a free and liberal performance. The 63-year-old artist chose sneakers to move easily on stage and enchant the audience with the violin in hand and impressive technique.
She said that each performance has a different feeling, so no recording is the same because it always changes, mostly thanks to the interaction from the audience. Perhaps that is why Secret Garden's performances always have a special appeal and bring surprises to the audience.

In addition to the music, the visual art is carefully prepared for each performance. The audience not only enters a Nordic garden but also gets lost in a Vietnamese garden with familiar images such as lotus ponds, bamboo clumps, terraced fields, golden rice fields...
Secret Garden uses music to communicate with the audience, sometimes between the breaks after a few pieces, Rolf Løvland and Fionnuala Sherry take turns interacting and sharing the stories behind their compositions. The female artist said that one of the best things about their first tour in Vietnam was the enthusiastic support and affection they received from the audience. That's why the group played Thank you with Espen's voice and meaningful lyrics as a thank you to the Vietnamese audience.
Secret Garden music listeners always have different images of the musical world they bring and this program has realized those feelings with extremely romantic and impressive images combined with subtle and just enough lighting effects that change according to the melody of each piece.
Fionnuala Sherry believes that life is too busy, making people stressed. They focus too much on electronic devices and social networks without thinking about themselves. At the Secret Garden Live In Vietnam concert, Rolf Løvland shared with the audience for the first time about the time when Fionnuala Sherry was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and the group had to cancel their world tour and stop performing for a while. They thought it would be great to spend time on music and start playing like they were just starting out. This is also the reason why he composed Fionnuala's violin for her and this piece was chosen for the show in Vietnam.
