Using the national domain name .vn can cost 40 million VND/year

Draft Circular stipulating the collection rates, collection, payment, management and use of fees for maintaining the use of Internet resources (including: fees for maintaining the use of the national domain name .vn, fees for maintaining the use of Internet addresses (IP) and fees for maintaining the use of network numbers), fees for allocating and granting Internet resources (including: fees for registering the use of the national domain name .vn, fees for registering the use of Internet addresses (IP) and fees for registering the use of network numbers).

The fee for registration to use the national domain name .vn and the fee for maintaining the use of the national domain name .vn shall be implemented according to the provisions in Section I of the Fee and Charge Schedule issued with this Circular.

Accordingly, the registration fee for using the national domain name .vn: For 1-character second-level domain names, the fee is 100,000 VND/time; for Vietnamese domain names, the fee is 10,000 VND/time.

The fee for maintaining the use of the national domain name .vn is as follows: Level 2 domain name with 1 character, fee is 40 million VND/year; Level 2 domain name with 2 characters, fee is 10 million VND/year; Vietnamese domain name, fee is 20,000 VND/year.

The fee for registration of IP address use and the fee for maintaining the use of IP address shall be implemented according to the provisions in Section II of the Fee and Charge Schedule issued with this Circular. Fee for registration of IP address use: For the first registration of usage level 1, the fee is 1 million VND; for usage level 2, the fee is 2 million VND.

Annual maintenance fee: For usage level 1, the fee is 10 million VND; for usage level 2, the fee is 21 million VND.

The Draft Circular also stipulates the collection of fees for registration of network numbers and fees for maintenance of network numbers in accordance with the provisions in Section III of the Fee and Charge Schedule issued with this Circular, applicable to organizations registering from the third network number or more.

Specifically, the registration fee for using a network number is 1 million VND/time. The fee for maintaining the network number for the first year is 13 million VND/year, and the following year is 3 million VND/year.

Fee collection organizations shall pay all collected fees to the state budget (central budget) according to the current State Budget Directory. Fee collection organizations shall deduct 85% of the collected fees and pay 15% of the collected fees to the state budget (central budget).

The fee money left for the fee collection organization as prescribed above shall be managed and used to cover the registration and management, maintenance and development of the national domain name .vn, Vietnam IP address, network number, maintenance of technical system and fee collection as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 1 of Decree No. 82/2023/ND-CP of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 120/2016/ND-CP of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Fees and Charges.
